06 cobalt ss manual tranny

Ok i have a 06 cobalt ss sc. Ive had for a few months now. I realized my tranny was leaking so i sprayed break cleaner on it to clean it up so i could find exactly where its coming from. Its coming from the drain plug. I cannot find the part anywhere. Does anyone have any suggestions or the part number or a answer to why its leaking from the plug?? Over filling the gear fluid?

The gasket has failed. If you know that its tight then that's the cause. I am currently trying to find one for you. I am finding the same issues you are.

What kind of plug and what sort of sealing mechanism does it use? I'm sure we could find a substitute that would work just fine.

the F35 is made by Saab, not Getrag.

Well hell. Just seemed logical succession in the F25, F35 sequence.

Put thread sealant on it and reinstall.

Also I believe the o-ring is generic. You can replace it with one that comes in an oring kit that you can buy at Harbor Freight.

o-ring? if it had anything it would be a crush washer, and I'm 95% certain there's no washer. it uses thread sealant. You might just want to try resealing it first before getting a new plug.

There's a rubber o-ring under the bolt head, at least on the SC version.

I'f there's an o-ring gasket I'm guessing it's a flat with square cross-section. If don't have one could always use just a pinch of black RTV.

I actually found it on this site. I had to go back to like 2010 to find it. I even called my parts stores and they didn't have it or could even get it. Its really dumb.
