I am new here and need some help/advice. I replaced timing set as well as water pump recently. After 3-4 weeks driving I lost oil pump near my house so I drove home about 1 1/2 miles. I tried a couple timing /oil pump covers from Amazon but they didn't fit right so bought one from autozone and it fit great. Problem is I have a noise like tapping or knocking starting approx1800 rpm. I changed lifters and found 4 bad ones but noise is still present behind timing cover. My question is does balance shaft timing have to match cam timing ? I need to also re check chain for balance shaft to make sure it is OK. The timing set i installed was also from Amazon and i may pay the price to swap to a cloyes set. Any help advice is appreciated.
