The big question

So I've got a 07 SS, usually do the LS stuff but want a fun car for the twisties. My cobalt I believe has a broken chain guide and it jumped(Lots of metal in the oil). I have access to a 07 2.2 engine. Could I swap the 2.2 and just leave the vvt plugs undone and tune it out in hptuners? From my understanding a 2.2 is just a "stroked" 2.0.

Short answer no, internals are weaker, different number of flywheel bolt holes in crank, plus numerous other differences.

You could make it work but it would likely cost more than just buying a block from ZZP.
