Central Fl Redline owner

Recently acquired a 04 Redline. Car has been abused unfortunately and needs work but it runs great. Has the GM Stg 2 kit, full 3 inch exhaust, K$N typhoon intake, and lowered on unknown springs.Name: IMAG0356.jpg

Welcome to the forum.
I got an 06 That was abused as well. So I understand.
Almost looks like a base model front bumper, but hard to tell. That matte black really isn't working for the car.

I agree. And yes its a base model bumper. I have a couple ideas that I might try on the car for the paint. Right now I'm focused on getting the drivetrain squared away. Making my own solid mounts for the trans this week and will add in the corrected angle for proper CV alignment. Then looking at solid spherical control arm bushings to eliminate the wheel hop on the car.

Good place to start, OTTP/powell are the guys to talk to about the spherical cabs.
I would recommend them for their rotated tranny mounts as well, but youre making your own.
No sense in have a nice looking car if it doesn't run right.
I have a black base model parts car if you need anything.

Yea I'll most likely pickup the OTTP mounts for the control arms. As far as power I plan on doing full cooling mods and a proper tune for starters. Car has 160k on it so I might not go smaller on the pulley but not sure yet. Eventually if I keep the car long enough I'll find a SAAB 2.0turbo motor and build it for the car. But that's a long ways out.

Mine had 124k on it when I purchased it. Went right to a 2.7 pulley, intake, exhaust, cooling, all the basics. No issue. Now has just over 125k on it. Haha, I have a daily, so no need to rack up the miles.
Im waiting on my funds to build back up to do some more "bolt ons", but LSJ-T seems like the popular way to go.

Yea I drive mine 100 miles on average a day for work lol. Staying reliable is a must for now. If I get another vehicle to daily I'll retire this one for more serious street duty. It'll depend on how everything acts once it's squared away and caught up on maintenance. If I keep the blower for a while I'll pull it off and port it, 2.7 pulley, LS4 TB etc.

I need to get my blower ported. Been thinking about porting the IM as well. Just not enough information on it.
Not bad cars though. I daily an 03 Ion, my sister has an 04 Ion, then I have my Redline for nights off to go cruise with. Just to many damn sensors, makes things seem way worst then what it is.

Yea I know what you mean. I enjoy the gas mileage and having a peppy car. Just needs more power for me. Figure these cars are cheap enough to mod that I won't go broke trying to break 300whp lol. I know with the m62 it'll be pushing it though.

This is the first car Ive done anything besides an oil change to, but the more I see what other people are doing, the more I want out of it. Gas mileage is a wonderful thing with these.
I don't think I broke a grand on my mods. Most expensive thing being the exhaust. Cheap enough for my wallet. haha

I'm no stranger to modding cars/trucks. But these seem to be cheaper than others I've messed with
