checking in from middle TN.

3 weeks ago the wife and I picked up our 09 ss/tc from a dealer just north of Nashville. First I must say I don't trust dealers I'm sure most of them are good guys just trying to make a living, so any time I spend at a dealer is stressfull to me.First we went up on Friday night to look at/purchase the car. When we got there and the manger had taken the car come home for the night, so we started to work out some numbers with the sales rep. We basicaly agrred on a deal without even seeing or driving the car, which was different for the wife and I, but we also didn't sign anything so we could still back out if need be. While we were up there everyone keep saying this car is rocket ship and it's a blast to drive, yet no one was saying what had been done to it. We ended up coming back up Sat. afternoon to look over the car and give it atest drive.

At first glance I wasn't to impressed, had a big old stone chip on the hood, some scratchs that had been touched up, a gouge on the lower fender that looks like some hit it with a grinder, and rims that looked like they were spray painted. We go in and the salesman that we were dealing with is with some one so another tech grabed the keys and brought it out front. Car had a nice deep rumble comeing from the exhaust, hop in and the car has a funny rattle to it, come to find out it was just the ZZP mounts is all. Pull out in to 45 mph zone with a bunch of stop lights and the car is really well mannered.

So before I tell you what happens next, let give you a little history about myself. Over the last 20+ years I've had 4 3d gen f bodies (82-92 camaro/firebird) each one becoming faster/more modded, up to my last one, an 86 iroc 428hp/445tq at the crank.

Ok back to the present. So we turn on to a onramp for the expressway. Get it into third doing about 50ish and floor it, It was fine untill the boost got above 20 psi, next thing I know it's takeing off like a scared dog with it's tail between it's legs, and here i am heading towards the ditch. Get it straigtened out look down and I'm doing 85. Now this is the first time I've experincened torque steer like that and truefully it scared the **** out of me. We get back to the dealership and the Wife takes it out, she never really got on it like I did but she was fine with a few 4th gear pulls. firgured she would be fine seeing how she would toy with the iroc every now and then.

Now here is when i should of walked away. We get back to the dealership and start to play the number game. while we were going back and forth another manger came and said if you think it's a beast now just wait. He hooked up the interceptor gauge and told to take it back out, who am I to say no to some playing with dealer tags on. so we head back to the expressway this time i'm ready for it to jump off the road. go to floor it, builds boost then all of sunden it falls on it's face, wasn't sure how much boost it was making seeing how I was watching the road. Now it wont go above 15psi and the CEL is on. we get off the road pull the interceptor gauge pigtail out turn the car off then back on and it was makeing 25psi boost again. But the CEL was still on and by the time we got back the shop was closed. We ended up makeing adeal anyways. Next day I unplugged the battery and everything seemed fine for a week.

Driving home from work one day and the low coolant message comes across the panel. Sure as **** the reservoir is about empty. Put coolant in it and about week and a 100 miles if that later it comes back on. So we call the dealer and they say bring it up, well it's almost a 2hr drive and with me being on call it's hard to find someone to cover me. We also have 3 warrenties atm the rest of GM's, 30 day feom the dealer, and the extended we got when we bought the car.Wife and father inlaw went up there to drop the car off and they gave us a 2013 buick enclave with only 14 miles on to drive while they figure out our car, which I will give them props for that. Couple days past and they call us, basically saying what we told them was wrong and they don't want to work on it because of all the mods. The manger says they will work on and fix it right and in the mean time enjoy the buick, which I personly don't care for.

So now I guess we just hang out playing the waiting game, they told us it could take up to 6 weeks to fix, in the mean time i was able to track down the previous owner on the forums so I was able to get a little more details on what was done to the car and what problems they have had with it.

TL;DR got a 09 ss/tc and broke it already

Where at in middle tn? I live in franklin go to school in MI. Nice to see you on the forums. Btw 25 psi definitely means you have an aftermarket tune, and plugging in a scan gauge really shouldnt make the car faster... You may have bought a car that was previously owned by a forum member. Post pics?

Wall of text. Brain hurt. The last part about them not wanting to work on it is one reason why I hate stealerships. Quick to sell you something but then act timid when it comes to promises. They knew the car was modded before you even got it. Kind of like the time mine ate the pcm and they said that it takes longer for warranty claim process because I didn't buy it from them. Welcome by the way! Hope you're back in it soon.

Its not their job to warranty aftermarket stuff or take everything back to stock to sell it. I'm sure that somewhere in the what's covered under warranty it explains that it covers factory stuff.

Hopefully op gets his car working and enjoys it. They are fun cars.
