Fresh Meat From Calgary Alberta!
Hey everyone! I decided lurking the forms for well over 3 years was long enough lol. I really want to send a thank you to everyone for all the info I got off this site. You guys saved me a ton in frustration and money by learning from your tips, and consequently, mistakes. All the people that took the time to post How-To's with pictures are the MVP's of the internet! Anywhoo, I should quit slacking and get back to work. Cheers!

Nice! surprisingly I haven't seen too many other SS owners in Calgary. Lots of regular 'balts though. I've got an '07 SS/SC. I finally caught up with all the maintenance items that needed to be done including a new clutch. I'll be looking into getting the stage 2 kit from ZZP with the 2.9" pulley soon as I can find someone in town to change out the needle and snout bearings in the SC. Porting would be a huge bonus. Only place is a shop in the states, but half the damn cost will be in shipping most likely.

Do you do supercharger rebuilds by chance? Only lead I have is Techworks Engineering. They said they might be able to do it if they can source bearings. Catch is, they are almost exclusively Subaru engine rebuilders.

No sorry I'm not too familiar with the M62 part of the LSJ. I'm more of an LSJ guy but Jon may know somewhere or if not he has 2 M62s

It's a pretty good community. I'm glad I stopped lurking haha. I'm mechanically inclined but no tools to do the rebuild job. I got a quote for $1.1k from a local shop including a port. It's pretty steep, but I know my SC will last a long time. Now I need to start slinging drugs to cover the cost 😂😂

My goal for my car is to strike a good balance between fun and reliability. I'm thinking a 2.9" pulley Will be perfect. Not too aggressive so I can daily it even in winter. My line of thinking is if I rebuild the SC, I could always transplant it to a new engine if it ever craps out. I can save about $400 if I port it myself. Looks fairly straightforward. I think the goal is to smooth the casting with sandpaper without sanding too much extra material.
