A Gem of a Lucky Find

My real friends try to care about my Cobalt story, but they are girls and they truly think practicality over all else in vehicle world. I’m counting on readers of this being complete freaks to begin with. Please be advised that this is going to be long You’ve been warned! My Dad used to be a Chevy dealer, so as long as I worked there, I could pretty much drive anything besides the really fast stuff like CTS-V, camaros, corvettes, etc. I much preferred used cars So when the Cobalt SS came out, I made it part of my salary negiotiaions with my dad. it was my company car which meant I paid nothing, nor did I pay for gas not insurance. My dad leased it for three years and the first ticket came when the odometer had 6 miles on it. Fully aware of the gift bestowed upon me, I thought it only fair to share it with my coworkers, and my only rule was don’t drink, dont get in trouble, and don’t wreck it. Many an oil changer had it for the whole weekend, full of gas, and no worries on bringing it back with gas. Didn’t really worry about anyone beating on it because it was a lease. Takes a lot of pressure off. Repairs under warranty, woo hoo! 3 years later I turned it in with tears in my eyes. I’ve driven every bad car under the sun and nothing does it for me like the SS.

^ yep, and you can still find a few decent ones out there that have been well taken care of with lower miles under $10k.
Thanks for the story.

They are definitely still a fun car even by todays standards. Also, you can still find them in good condition with under 100k miles.
