Greetings,
I'm on my second 2009 Cobalt SS sedan now. Sold the first one and picked up a new 2018 Mustang GT but that turned into a nightmare courtesy of Ford and the dealer. Ended up buying another SS a few years ago and I'm truly enjoying this car.
Cheers!
Both cars look very clean. I always wanted a Mustang 5.0 with the Coyote engine. Hopefully get one at some point probably closer to when I retire. A few years back I was trying to find a NewEdge but the prices were insane for a clean one in my area. Anywhere from 13 to 15 k which at the time was a bit over my budget range. I did find a decent SN95 but I just never liked the body style of those ones and it was an auto lol. So no bueno on that one lol. Plus they never had the power unless you stepped up to a SVT Cobra but those are extremely rare in my area and I know the price would be ridiculous lol.
The 5.0 was my dream car and my third Mustang GT. It was a joy to listen to until it picked up the 'typewriter' rattle before the first oil change. I did not enjoy the incessant rattle going down the freeway and the racket took the joy right out of driving the car. I did try and buy another one but the dealers were clear that if the next one rattled they would not take car of it and Ford would not fix the problem. It was the best 'GT' car that I've driven but it was the least fun Mustang that I've owned. The steering was numb, low end torque was poor, and it always felt portly to drive. All of that was forgivable when the Coyote howled though.
I think a Newedge Cobra would be an ideal car myself but it didn't make sense cost wise. I picked up the GT new but on year end clearance for $28,000 and couldn't pass it up at that price. I'd rather have one of those Cobras though.
That 5.0 morphed into a G37X for a daughter and the silver SS. My drive to work is actually more fun in the SS.
