Hello Everyone!

I just bought a 2006 Cobalt SS LSJ SC with the G85 Performance Package. It is a one owner car with only 29K miles. There are service records on Carfax for the first 25k miles. The last time it was serviced per Carfax was 2014 with just over 25K on the odometer. The interior of the car is absolutely immaculate. The outside of the car looks great except for clear coat peeling on the hood. I have a feeling the car sat for the last 4 or 5 years before it was donated to a charity who auctioned it off to me.

I plan to change all the fluids in the car when I get it home. I will probably change the oil and oil filter a few times in the first two months.

What else should I check, verify, replace, etc.?

Thanks.... Glad to be here!
Paul

Welcome!!!

If it was me personally, I would replace the rubber hoses for the coolant system, but that's just based on age and the fact it sat for quite some time. Otherwise, with the mileage, you'll probably be okay for a while.

Others should be able to chime in on the small issues you might find on an LSJ, I've got an LNF so my knowledge is limited there.

Enjoy the car!

Looks in really great shape beside the paint of course. Another thing I would do is take it to a shop or someone who has a hoist and check all your brake lines, gas lines, suspension. I look at the tires as well to make sure there is no dry rot or weather cracking. Other than I check the spark plugs, coils and get new gas flushed through it as well because if it sat for years the fuel injectors could be clogged. For the Supercharger I would look at changing the oil on that as well as it might not of ever been changed out before.

THANK YOU... Nobody has mentioned that and I didn't realize the Supercharger even had its own oil supply! Just added this to my MUST DO list.

No problem man. Yeah you need ac delco official supercharger oil. You can buy it at zzperformance.com or look on ebay or amazon as well.

Depending on if there was a bit of gas and it's been sitting for a while, I would probably change the fuel filter as well. Easy to get to, and doesn't cost much for the extra peace of mind. The supercharger oil is key.

Verify your intercooler pump is working too, and check the hear exchanger coolant level. This is a separate system the. The engine cooling system.

You should change out to a smaller SC pulley / belt to go with the Option B intercooler loop along with bigger injectors followed by a tune

Dont forget E85 and a ported head from Cat V Port Works, and a true single pass manifold from Jason Widdowson. 🤣
