Hello From Tyler TX
Well after countless hours of research of every sporty car on the road I have finally decided a Cobalt will be my next car. Just joined even though I have frequented the site for a couple of months now since considering the Cobalt. I am looking for a 09 or 10 SS coupe (got to have MUH RPD!!!) and it will probably be another couple of months until I find the right one since they are not very common. My plans are to leave the exterior stock minus removing the SS badges and possibly putting a LT or LS badge on the trunk to go full sleeper mode. As for the engine I plan on downpipe, intake, charge pipes, and intercooler with a tune of course and then possibly go from there but most likely just stay fully bolted since this will be my DD. The main reason I joined even though I don't have a Cobalt is I plan on buying most if not all of my aftermarket parts used and I don't want to cause suspicion in the classifieds section.
Maybe not up North but the car culture in my area is extremely stupid. Basically here you have 60% trucks with a lift and big mud tires that think they are fast because they have a V8 but I can beat most of the gas engine ones in my V6 Firebird. Then there is about 15% Mustangs another 15% ricers basically Civics and Celicas with fartcans. Finally you get down to the last 10% that actually have fast cars. I guarantee you most people here don't even know a Cobalt SS exist I have only seen a hand full of them in and when I did I never dreamed they where forced induction until I started doing more research about cars in the last six months. Here if you don't have a V8 you aren't taken seriously. So having said that I believe that I will be able to surprise alot of rednecks with a Cobalt.

Trust me Shitbox, around here these rednecks are starting to learn that the little orange pumpkin has their number ;-) hehehe. I have never had so much fun in a car like I have this one period! Let me know if you wanna take a test drive bud and we will hook up maybe drink a beer or something. Welcome to the site and btw did you check out the yellow balt at Texashotride.com?

Yeah I agree with ya on that yellow one, which yellow just isnt my color myself. Fortunately got a pretty sweet deal on mine when I bought it although minor fixes were needed sunroof etc but little problems really considering. Driving 132 miles or so a day isnt helping with my odometer so I feel ya there. Hell by the time I do everything to the car it wont be worth blue book what I will have in the car anyways haha. Take care and wish ya the best in your searching man!
I was also looking at the one from texashotrides but it was involved in 2 accidents. Both on the same side... You can tell both bumpers were replaced and the head light was too... Instead I bought another 09 yellow with 60k instead
Well working at a dealership I can tell so much about body work and that's just pictures and usually pictures make things look better, just imagine if you seen it in person... I'm not gonna lie I was pretty serious about buying it but if you are far away like me, I'm in Mass and the car in Texas it would be definitely worth the $100~ to have a third party inspect and look over the car...
Welcome man! I'm in Tyler quite a bit and can agree with the lifted trucks. I've got a couple but needed something quick that got good mpg. A couple of the guys in town with balt ss sold them a couple months ago but still keep in touch. Let me know if ya'll want to get together for a beer. I have had my ss sedan for almost a year and love it.
