Hi my name is Ann
And I live in Jacktown Oklahoma. I bought a 2006 Black Cobalt SS with a supercharger. I joined to learn more about my car. Especially the supercharger. i have never had one before but I love it and think it is the bomb. I love to drive it. I recently pulled into work late, too fast and hit the curb and busted a hole in the radiator and had to replace it. Now I know that the thing that sticks up and says to put Dex-Cool in it, is not for the radiator it simply draws from the reservoir. The kid down the street says it is for my supercharger, is it? I thought the supercharger was a sealed oil filled unit that doesnt need lube changes or anything.

There is a radiator as well as a second 'radiator' in front of it called a heat exchanger. It pumps coolant through the intake manifold that the charger sits on. If you are getting a low coolant light and your resiovior next to the fusebox is low, then its the radiator that you damaged.
The little t-neck filler in front of the charger is for the heat exchanger and needs enough fluid flowing through it to have fluid visible at all times to function correctly. Welcome to the site ann!

Thank you so much. It is the little T-Neck filler that I add more coolant to every 3 days or so. And thus my questions about my supercharger. Never had one on a car before, but love it. It is tremendous fun for me. I am sorry it took so long to get back on. Been trying to figure out how to eat and get off the liquid diet caused by one those unethical immoral dental clinic chains. If you have a problem with a tooth and find a dentist that will help you that day, but when you get there they do comprehensive x-rays and send you to the loan/finance officer first, run, dont't walk, get the h... out of there and dont let the door hit you in butt either.
