Talking I was looking for a SS/SC, ended up with a SS/TC

I noticed that especially dealers were asking a ridiculous amount for 07< Cobalt SS's, but found an 08 turbo for just under $9000 from a dealership with 93,000 miles on it. I may have payed a bit much, but the detailing that the dealership did to it was superb and I'm hoping that their service department got it ready to pass inspection. (I'm going to take it Monday to get it inspected.)

Without further ado, I present my new baby.

I believe the only modifications are an Injen intake and some aftermarket charge pipe. The only thing I plan to do it it is tune it for E85. If someone could point me in the right direction as far as which tune to use and what parts I need, that would be awesome!

Nice find, you'll want to get the valves cleaned at that mileage.

That's kind of what I was thinking. If I have time after getting it inspected, I might have the shop take a peek inside the valves and see what kind of gook was built up. If it's cheap enough, I'll have them blast it out. If not, I'll prepare to coat my entire garage in walnut dust.

If you don't feel like paying the shop to check the valves you can pick up a scope on amazon or ebay for 20 bucks and slide it in through the brake booster vacuum port on the manifold. Works like a charm.

Also I'd say 9k for a TC is not bad at all

If they'll do it for free, I'll have them do it and show me. I don't feel like I'll need a snake scope for myself.

Was the car hit before? Rebuilt or salvage title? You have 05-06 headlights, and your paint on the door doesn't match the quarter panel .

Nope, no records show any collision of any kind. I never noticed the paint mismatch. The car seems straight enough, so I'm not too worried.

It's probably the way GM painted the car. My SRTC looks like 3 different colors depending on the body panels. Cobalt and high quality factory paint job don't have much in common haha

The car does not have factory exhaust either, that tail pipe looks tiny. Keep an eye on coolant level right after you take possession of the car. You'll want to get it back to the dealer asap if you have disappearing coolant while still under the little warranty you'll probably get.

You made the right choice.

Also $9k for that car is a good deal.

Tailpipe not stock has some sort of exhaust on it maybe a catback maybe just a different muffler. As for tuning I know of someone.

I live in Ozark, MO. Work in Springfield. I have a camera to scope it out if needed.

I could certainly help cleaning the valves if needed. I did it in my shop in Ozark.

Also if you have certain questions or need me to look at something i can help. I know enough to be dangerous.

I will definitely let you know when I decide to check out the valves. I get really nervous when I try to do anything more than regular service on a vehicle, so it might be good to have someone with a little more experience help me out with it. I appreciate the thought and keep you in mind for sure.
