just baught an LSJ did i get a good deal
Bought a 2005 LSJ SC, first one and i love it. Im a hot rod guy, i own my own shop where we build custom top fuel mototrcycles, promod, prostock, grude bikes and everything in between. i have an 05 cummins dually running 730s in the eith and a 2000 z28 head cam car. I bought this as a DD
i bought it for 6000, its got 73000 miles and looks great, a 5 speed of course.
burnt orange (or whatever that color is)
it has a 2nd gear syncro out which i figure is no prob for me, i have a lift and shop
question is, is this a big deal for me to drop the trans and rebuild it?
if so where do i get the kit
also it has a roar in the front end, sounds like it has a mini set of mud tires roaring. its not loud but i know its not supposed to sound like that.
thanks in advance guys. cant wait to help and be helped!

6000 is a decent price for the mileage, but it sounds like its semi broke.
Open diff trans are pretty affordable on here, if you don't rebuild the trans. It requires special tools from Kent Moore to crack it open IIRC.
Not sure about the roar, might need a video for that.

Welcome......I work at a dealer in Charlotte....there's a few of us around here.
As for the transmission, make sure you have a good press and the proper tools to seperate and press on....they are a bit of a pain.
And as for the roaring.....either tires or a hub. Rotate the tires and see if the noise moves to the rear, or run the vehicle on the lift and listen for some bearing noise in the hubs.
