Just bought a SS and now its for sale

Hey all.

I Joined a few days ago while searching for an SS/TC because I thought I wanted one. Well today I bought one. I got 2009 with 104k miles in the dark red color. It is bone stock. After driving it several hundred miles home and thinking about a few things, I'm thinking it's not really for me right now.

I was searching for a fun 4cyl turbo to putt around town in instead of my Tahoe all the time. I got a saab 9-3 from my aunt a month ago and it's been sitting in my driveway since. However, her and my uncle jerked me around with the title for over a month so i got tired of that and went out an bought an SS. It just so happens the title for the saab showed up in the mail today ha.

My biggest gripe with the cobalt is the trunk. I play a lot of ice hockey, both goalie and forward. I would have issues getting my forward bag in the truck let alone my Goalie gear (or both). The interior is too nice to put sweaty wet stuff on the seats. It may sound minor, but I pretty much drive to hockey and the gym. So right there half my purpose for the car is a wash.

So I have some figuring out to do. But the car is for sale, and I need to make some posts so I am allowed to create a for sale thread.

Fold the rear seats down and put the gear ontop of it.

Thought about it but its a major hassel. Plus sweat, water, and locker room juice will still drip down. I play so often I'm not looking to inconvenience myself and put tarps down etc. Plus there's really no careful way to get a bag in the backseat. Eventually something will get damaged on the car

I've made things work before, and I mostly play as a forward now. But just the extra step when I could just throw everything in the back of my Tahoe easily would make me not want to use this car. The saab I have sitting in my driveway has a hatchback and everything would go in easily.

I've been a goalie 20 years. I've had 22 cars now. My equipment has probably been in every car I've owned. But the trunk on this thing is definitely the smallest I've ever had. At least the opening lol. I hate that I even think like this, because it is a nice car, but I like easy and I just don't think this makes sense for me

I don't fault you at all. It is probably what I hate about the car the most as well. My dad had a sunfire growing up and I could at least wedge my stuff into the trunk of it. Zero chance of getting the bag into the Cobat trunk.

It's not my only reason, but its a big one. I've fit bag and pads into an Audi s4, older mustang gt, dodge spirit r/t, etc etc. Hell I've even borrowed my friends old 89 Honda prelude and everything fit in the trunk. Honestly my forward bag wouldn't even fit in the trunk and that's sad. It's like the size of a golf bag......corvettes can fit a golf bag FFS....

I go to hockey 3-4 times a week and it's a 52 mile round trip each time. The gym is a 16 mile round trip. My girlfriend lives 16 miles away. My whole purpose for the 4cyl fwd car is to keep miles off the Tahoe unless it's snowing. The 200 miles a week for hockey is a large chunk of my miles.

Modifying the car is not a priority right now. I would love to keep and modify but I've had so many fast cars its just not a huge deal for me at the moment. I'm at a point in my life where I just want easy first.

Id say to give it a few weeks. It might grow on ya. You dont want to sell it and then regret it. They are very fun cars and killing v8s that dont expect it is priceless.

Haha I know how often gm is knocked for their interiors. I actually like the simplicity of the silver and black. It's what I have in my Tahoe. You can't expect the world for less than $25k

What I think doing is tonight putting an ad up for my saab and the cobalt and will see what sells first
