Hi Everyone,
My name is Ilyan. I am happy to find this forum, and so many fellow Cobalt enthusiasts. I have a sunburst orange 2006 Cobalt SS Supercharged Coupe, LSJ with G85 package. I ordered it new from the factory, and it is by far the best car I have ever owned. I would rather invest the money to take care of it and maybe upgrade it with some mods as budget permits than even think about selling it or trading it off. I am discovering that some parts are almost impossible to get for this car, but I guess that's part of the adventure of owning a Cobalt.
I have limited mechanical expertise, but I like mechanical concepts. Just never developed the practical skills or acquired the tools to do it all myself. I guess I am sort of a nerd who wishes he was a mechanic with mad skills and every cool tool known to man.
Anyway, glad to be here, and thank you all for having me on your forum.

Welcome to the forum!
Best way to learn mechanics is to do it. Start with a basic mechanics tool set and add tools when you need them as you. Go get a quote from your shop to do the work and you'll justify buying new tools. When I installed my furnace, I did the work so I bought a pair of sheet metal sheers (gigantic scissors) and I have used this tool often afterwards for other projects I love them now. You have to put in the time spinning nuts and bolts, you're not going to be hoonigan garage this year but you'll be 1 year closer if you want it.
