Been a reader for the last 6 months while I built this car that was given to me because the person owed me $500.... it's a 2006 Chevy Cobalt SS with 181,000 miles, motor was rebuilt 40,000 miles ago I was given it stock and in the last 6 months I've had my fun doing all this to it. It's been a very fun car to mod and drive. My next step is to get it up on a dyno and off the ZZP canned tune.
ZZP stage 3, 2.8in pulley, dual bypass endplate, option B, #60 injectors, NGK 1SC, headers, Downpipe, 2.5in exhaust, Injen CAI, Braum Seats, stage 2 clutch and flywheel, Spyder headlights, tinted rear lights, NGK quick release D shape wheel, NGK harnesses, short throw shifter, harness bar, EBay coilovers, B-2 Body Kit, Custom Paint, stock 18s painted black.... black carpet is on the way to finish out the interior!

It's been fun, don't really know what else I can do to it as of now. Any ideas?
I do want to post some pictures of when I first got the car too hahahh boy it's been a journey.... I don't even have pictures of it before I swapped the headlights and did the interior, it was really bad.... I can't wait for the black carpet to get here that's going to seal the deal.... I do have a touchscreen, cerwin vegas speakers and subs with 2 amps running each and a capacitor as well. Totally forgot about those pictures but I was mainly posting about the power mods.

Wow you weren't kidding bro lol. Definitely huge improvement over when you got it. Great job so far. Yeah so I would do a few things such as Powell Racing Hardcore Sway, Powell Lower and Leading Control Arm bushings, Moog sway bar end links or the Powergrid sway bar end links. Stiffer engine and tranny mounts. You seem to be good for engine mods from what I can tell. How are your brakes?

thats mainly what I wanted to focus on next was suspension because the coilovers are very stiff but nicer than stock and the body roll and under steer isn't that bad, the brakes are kinda mushy but they work for the most part haha I do get worried every now and then and haven't really got to push the limits in the car because of it.

Yeah I hear you brotha. I'm slowly restoring my 07 Pontiac G5 Gt sedan which includes full suspension rebuild and then for power doing a M62 Supercharger. It definitely takes awhile to get everything dialed in. For brakes you could do a Brembo SS/TC conversion kit. ZZP sells the kit on their website. I guess its a great upgrade for the LSJ guys.

yeah I think brembo kit and then all the strut / sway bars are next on the list.
Yeah good idea. Some people just think about speed first with these cars but really handling and braking is where the real fun is at, being able to carve up twisty roads and know your vehicle can be pushed to its limits without worrying about it. I'm thinking about doing the Conversion after I get the suspension and Supercharger portion of my build done. For right now I have oem pads and rotors from the SS/SC which is a oem upgrade for the G5 GT.

Yes I'm glad you agree on the subject, I like speed and all but I like being fast in a turn not down a drag strip. I've had modified vehicles my whole life, I'm 35 and I've always been about that autocross life not that drag life lol.
l also got the 2.9in pulley for the TVS just Incase I decide to pulley down immediately.... any thoughts on this set up running 60s and trailblazer 77mm TB???? Or should I just go up to 80s??
The faded black pieces on your door (between window and rear windows) - I'm pretty sure those are just strips of matte black vinyl. You should be able to peel them off and replace them fairly easily. The removal might be a PITA because of their age though.
And unless you want it for aesthetic purposes, you should cancel the order of the front strut bar. They don't do much of anything on these cars because our strut towers are already structurally integrated into the firewall. Just an FYI, if you were hoping for some performance gain.

They are. Its 3m that made them. My Charger has them as well.
I thought they were, as I remember people removing them in the early days and liking the look. I always thought they looked better with the vinyl though.

I did it to my SS, and to my Ram. I like the look on the Charger, so its staying. You may can zoom and see it without them. I will look and see if I can find any better pics.

omg I'm about to do that tonight in my driveway with spotlights LOL I hate those things.... been something that annoys me big time since I got the car..... luckily I have extra paint that matches the custom color saved.

It will look a lot better. Interesting enough my 08 didn't have the tape.
The Coupes I know had them. My SS did and my sisters 09 LT had it. That was an 08 LT and it didn't have it. You can always reapply new tape if you don't want to mess with repainting the pillars. 3m is what I remember made it for the cars. You could probably find it at your local parts store.
Not all the way wiped clean of the sticky crap left behind but it already looks sooooooo much better! Once clean all the way I will sand and paint to match the color of the car.
