I did make the Jump and put in this order a couple nights ago 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ I know I need to order #80s I already have an LS4 TB and an appointment at the exhaust shop to go from 2.5 to 3in and an extra bung for wideband in the exhaust Thursday.... talking to ZZP about the tune as well..... stage 3 and 2.9 wasn't enough for me but now I am about to buy a $1000 HHR and throw the m62 on that hahahahaha throwing a wideband and probably something to monitor IAT2 in the pod

louie how many miles does the HHR have on it? And is it a 2.2 or 2.4. That will make a slight difference on how much power it will make. Also since it more than likely gunna have a good amount of miles on it I would do a compression check to be safe along with anything else that might be wrong with it. Still though HHR'S are very cool and it would be a total sleeper with the extra power for sure.

p.s. for your 80s you will need the lsj injector Harnish and since you are doing a ls4 throttle body you should go with a larger cold air intake. ZZP make a 3 inch intake it will help match the airflow of the larger throttle body.

testing has shown modified stock airbox was best for these cars

Good to know. I actually thought about doing a functional ram air hood many years ago when I bought my car back in 07. Do you know if any companies still make aftermarket hoods for the cobalt/g5 anymore?

i already have the harness because I'm on 60s right now this is the order I put out today to make sure I'm ready for everything to arrive

the idea with the HHR is really for after I get this build all said and done, I'm either going to get another cobalt or an HHR and basically take everything that I'm taking off this current build (stage 3 2.8in pulley and 60s) and throw it In one of the two cars just so I can turn around and sell it for a lot more than I pay for it.

lots of companies are still making hoods, I went with the one I have because it came with the car but I remember looking and there was a bunch of options.

I would, buy a good aftermarket filter, remove the bottom of the airbox.

Rest is for sound really. I know Staged07ss did extensive testing back in the day and actually had one of the rare H62 blowers. basically a tvs twisted rotor style set of paddles in an m62 housing.

The functional SS style hood from back in the day which as been long since discontinued was functional but only for a short ram setup and not the SS/SC cold air setup.

I had one.

I agree. It looks like it fits well too. OP did you get your doors painted after you removed the tape?

I really wanna just cut my hood scoop open and make mine functional I park it under cover when it's home and never drive it when it rains... but I live in Florida and rain comes out of nowhere sometimes

Well.... spent more money

well made sure I have everything I need before the TVS arrives, made this order tonight..... damn these dudes probably love me, just blasted $6000 in 5 weeks on the damn car should've skipped stage 3 knowing it wouldn't be enough Hahahahah

also decided to buy HPtuners instead of renting it so I'm never caught with my pants down without a proper tune for the car, and so I can dive into learning more about cars in general.

The rear sway bar went on this morning before I drove the car to the exhaust shop to get everything from my Downpipe (piping, resonator and muffler) switched to 3in piping and boy could I tell the difference in the turns when some pressure is applied hahaaha
Also having a wideband bung put in after the 2nd 02 sensor at 10* (2 oclock)....

anyone think anything else

I also was able to pick up a micro laptop with 4gb of ram an i7 and windows 10 that fits in the glovebox that I'll run hptuners with for $60 at the pawn shop..... gotta love Florida hahaha

Louie I would email them and ask them why the TVS Unit did not include the 3.1 pulley that was indicated in the description on their website. And yes you can 2.9 pulley with the 80s but just make sure you go e85.

i emailed them but it's the weekend, so I'm sure I'll hear back on Monday from them, but yeah I kinda wanna just go e85 and slam the 2.9 on it and be done hahahaha.... I wonder if I'll have to put a FPBBR on the car or if the fuel will be fine. I did order the rewire kit so my pump will have a few more volts going to it but that's about it.

Yeah see what they say brotha. And yeah with tvs , e85 , ls4 tb, intake and exhaust mods you should be at 300whp on a fairly conservative tune.

ok awesome cause I have headers, Downpipe, 3in exhaust, 3in cai, ls4 TB, #80s, NGK one step colder spark plugs, option B, front mount heat exchanger..... adding the tvs with 2.9 pulley tomorrow and going to start logging and tuning with ZZP going to do the send back and forth method I guess they want to do it like that.

I am glad to see you two getting along. Chevygirl2006 it’s nice no matter what to see new builds. It’s what’s keeping these platforms and forums alive. Much respect silencelouie1203 for what you have done. Y’all just play nice. We don’t get these builds much anymore as the cobalt ss is all but done.

I was thinking about getting the brfpr and keeping the 60s but bit the bullet and ordered the 80s and said F it I'll just run e85.... it was definitely a hard decision
