My 07 colbalt help
My 07 colbalt help
Help I did a transmission fuild change on my 07 Chevy colbalt I changed the filter and gasket and it’s still leaking all around the pan so I tried putting the old gasket back in and it still leaks any suggestions please I’ve tried everything why won’t it stop leaking
I would recommend going with a new gasket and put a very light coating of rtv on it. You can't torque the pan back on as it will usually damage the gasket. Don't have a book in front of me but there is a torque spec for it.
I don't know about the Cobalt's automatic but I know when I changed the fluid in my truck transmissions the guys at the parts store told me to be diligent not to over-tighten the pan that it is a very common mistake and can warp the flange which is hard to correct and will make it leak even if you go back a torque it properly afterwards.
