New, A Few Questions

Hi guys I'm Ty. From southern Pennsylvania and just picked up my yellow 05 Cobalt SS a month ago.

First thing I did was pull off the ugly dealership license plate and drill out the rivets that held it to the bumper. So now there's three ugly holes in my bumper and its bugging me. Would you guys recommend just throwing some Bondo in the holes and painting them? I used to work buffing scratches and painting nicks on cars so color matching and paint isn't a problem. Just curious as to what body filler or plug would hold up and take the paint the best.

My headlights are filling up with condensation so I'm stuck on whether to pull them, clean them out, and reseal them. Or to just get some new headlights. I remember replacing the headlights in my old 89 Civic Si and that was a major pain, so what would you all do? I'm on a college budget so I'm trying keep things low cost, but there's always Xmas and the birthday if I have to replace.

Also, just an idea and I couldn't find any posts about this so I'll throw it out here. Has anyone painted or customized their intercooler on here? I'm sure many of you have seen the ZZP intercoolers with "ZZP" written across it. I was thinking and figured it might be cool to have "SS" on the visible part of my intercooler. Any ideas of how to go about this? Any input is appreciated, even if you tell me its a stupid idea.

Thanks in advance
-Ty

Headlights can be bought for a new set for like $150... I had custom retros and didn't like how "dull" they were at night and I prefer the look of the black housing OEM ones... I'd just buy new ones and not have to worry about having a faulty seal when you put them back together... Headlights are pud... Probably easier than changing the oil IMO... About the holes, I just put body filler in and resprayed the bumper cover but I hate rock chips and I'm ****.. You could just put body filler and touch up paint of it and be fine I'm sure.. Oh and welcome, I also just joined and have an 05 ss.. Post some pics of the car!

Intercooler is easy to paint but you want it off the car obviously. I've seen a stock one painted black with green SS written on it, mine has EFR written on it with the turbo's logo as well.

Thanks guys. I'm probably gonna go with some new headlights. Maybe darker ones. I've been looking through some pictures on here and I really like the evo mod on the rally yellow. I'll probably look into painting the bowtie bar black along with the evo mod and putting a silver SS emblem where the bowtie was. The question is plasti dip or an actual paint job. The only reason I'm shying away from plasti dip is that I'm afraid it'll chip too much with all the back road and highway driving. And the only thing with real paint is that I can't just pull it off if I don't like it like with plasti dip. Opinions?

Plasti dip it to see how you like it and you can always go a more permanent route later, not to mention plasti dip doesn't really chip.

How many can and layers would I need to get that done do you think? And should I pull the bumper off before plasti dipping or can I leave it on as long as I'm careful with taping and everything?

Buy new ones instead of the time involved of removing them cleaning then resealing and installing them
