new member with cobalt issues

Hi everyone. I have a 06 chevy cobalt. I rcvd the engine power reduced warnung and the engine shut off while i was driving it. So i had the throttle body replaced. The car still would not crank so the code said to get an accelerator pedal position sensor. Can still would not crank and the fuel pump would not work. So i bought a fuel pump. Nit the car still wont crank. But if u pour fuel directly in the pump is cranks fine. Something is preventing the fuel from getting to the engine. Any suggestuons?

Just for future reference, just because theres a code for a sensor doesnt necessarily mean the sensor needs replacing.

first off welcome to the group. please add pics once you get the chance via photobucket. secondly, could have bad relays or fuses. im not sure. but there are some very smart people here who can tell you. also read thru the problems section on lsjs. may find some helpful info there!

Welcome. Check fuses and electrical. Always check cheaper stuff and move on to the stuff that isn't if the problem persists.

how do you pour fuel directly into the fuel pump? or am i reading that wrong?

there was a point where my car would crank and crank and not start. i thought it was the pump but was actually my camshaft position sensor, located in the rear drivers side of the engine near an aluminum coolant line. cheap, moderately easy fix.

but that's my only experience with a similar issue. best of luck!

Maybe the accelerator pedal position sensor wasnt bad but the wiring is, and the voltage its sending to the pcm is indicating wot. In this case the car enters clear flood mode and will not start. Try seeing if the tb is stuck open maybe.

The fuses were fine. I was going to get another fuel pump relay. Does anyone know where the fuel pump reset button is in the trunk?

No it wont crank now. When he poured gas in the throttle body it turns over but once the gas runs down it immediately cuts off

You don't, the only way to get fuel into the motor is to open the throttle blade, and squirt some in, just like old carb cars. Welcome new person.

I read somewhere that there is a reset button in the trunk. Does anyone know if this is true? Or where the button is? Thanks
