Hey every one I'm mr.bubbles1986 just bought my first Cobalt ss/SC and it's been nothing but a pain .could really use some help I posted a thread so any ideas or help would be great. Take it easy on me lol

 

Welcome! So what type of issues are you having? Nobody can help you unless you give people the sort of issues you are having.

 

Well first I lost my gears like was going into but not engaging. So I replaced the shifter cables and bracket. Got new short throw shifter and cable clamps.. it ran like a wet dream for like 45 stoped went to back up could not get in reverse. Finally got it to back up and I only had 1st,3rd,5th gear for bout 2miles then abousltley nothing. Goes in to gears but just revs up. The black shifter cable looks like it is stretched out again. No clue what is going on

 

Yup heard about other members having this problem before. I would do a thread search on this. Read this thread here. I knew people were having issues with shifter cables.

It is a very common issue. This site has a ton of threads about it. If you can hold out until tomorrow, traffic will be better.

 

Welcome. Shifter issues bare some times difficult. Could be something a some as the roll pin. Loss of gears like you mentioned makes me think roll pin, cable clamps, cables or adjustment to cables. Tomorrow will bring the rest of the active here for a few more opinions. What shifter did you go with?
