New member here!

Hello everyone new member hear from Saint Pete Florida recently purchased a 2009 cobalt SS turbocharged that has a bunch of modifications from the initial an original owner. Sadly I won’t be keeping the car as it sits for a while as I am actually using the drivetrain to make an open wheel race car. Still cobalt powered so I figured I would become part of this site and have access to the vast knowledge of the inner workings of the cobalt it’s motor and it drive train.

That being said I don’t have access to post on any of the classifieds but I will have the vehicle for part out pretty soon so look for that ad .

Well yes I am unless someone wants to buy the Cobalt for a good price and someone else has another turbocharge cobalt that might have body damage but the drivetrain is intact.

it happens, just might require some patience. You'll save a few thousand dollars that way, and keep a good car on the road.

For example, this was just on here a couple weeks ago: https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/comp...242500-325363/

Well another thing is maybe somebody could tell me what my cobalt is worth. I think that would also help make a determination But I wouldn’t even know where to post that

Start with the kbb price. They tend to undervalue the SS, so you should be able to add a few hundred for the coupe (more for sedan). Then subtract for the mods, depending on what they are.

I just shared this post in a facebook Cobalt group where someone just totaled their black SS (although that is an SS/SC not a TC).

Well here’s the issue the car has a lot of modifications.

2009 about 120,000 miles on the chassis but about 10,000 on the new LDK motor and zfr6758 turbo with supporting mods, clutch flywheel, New intercooler new intake, etc.

You could sell that probably for 8 or 9k to the right guy. Then even buying a zfr and ldk and new donor would still put you at less than the cost of this.

Well it’s at a tuner now getting tuned and finding out what all is done to it.... how do I tell if it’s an ldk motor vs stock? Stock turbo vs zfr... these mods were only told to me not verified

LDK just look for a block-off plate on the inboard end of the exhaust camshaft/valve cover. It will be an obvious cut plate bolted on.
AFA ZFR, someone else would have to chime in. Both of those are easy to verify. I doubt someone would try to snow you on that.

OK but the question still remains that if I decide to park this car out how do I get access to the classified section so I can put some parts up for sale for you guys the car has decent rims and tires on it I won’t need the exhaust I won’t need the intercooler the clutch and flywheel or possibly the transmission as I might go with a six speed I do things for sale would be all the interior parts all the exterior body panels taillights or suspension parts.

You have to post a certain number of times and I think be a member for a certain length of time

It's not many. You may already be there. It's just to keep out the riff-raff. Facebook tends to get a lot of traffic faster, though.

You could flip this car and get a wrecked one and new zfr for free basically.

I understand I’m just looking for the simplest possible solution here since this motor is already running and tuned and everything is attached I wouldn’t want to deal with or I wouldn’t know how to go about having a completely stock motor and then building from there like I strap a turbo on but who does the tuning because obviously I would need someone versed in that and I’m located in Saint Pete so I don’t know who specializes in the car around here

Hopefully you know someone with some experience with the car since you said it's at your tuner's right now...

If he doesn't know the car you're wasting your time there and probably causing more problems than solving.

Its not like the engine you have is built. Its just the newer version of an lnf. And you are going to want to retune it after the swap is done anyways, especially since you are considering going to f40. Those can handle more boost down low.

Yes The tuner it’s at right now is just verifying everything seeing what turbos on it saying if it is in fact in LDK seeing what other modifications it has such as intercooler exhaust etc.
