Hello everyone!


Im a 25 year old from Miami thats dying to get his hands on a SS. Ive been shopping around and so far I'm tempted between an 08 TC thats in great conditions but has 136k miles or a 06 SC rebuilt. price is only $500 dollars and I'm dying to get my hands on a TC but the miles worry me.


any advice or help with these cars? I've never had one so what are normally the problems you all face with them and is 136k miles too much for that small engine and turbo.

Welcome to Cobalt land, Once you enter there's no escape.

 

I am by no means an expert, but I would recommend the TC, I think you'd be glad you did! A lot of the consideration isn't the miles so much as how well did the previous owner take care of it.

My opinion, of course.

Personally I'd stay away from the LSJ with a rebuilt title. I'd definitely go with the LNF (turbo). 136k may seem quite a bit, but if the previous owner maintained it and took care of it, then it's not a big deal.

 

How much are you looking to spend?

Well I'm looking for no more than 6k. the turbo is going for 6400 but after a month of not selling he dropped it to 5900, so I'm thinking of showing up to his place with 5k in my hand and see if he goes for it.

 

Try if not go with 5500 on hand and im sure he will let it go

 

i hope he will. the car has a powertrain warranty supposably for tranny and engine so we will see.there something wrong with it I'm sure he's selling it too cheap or he just wants to get ride of it quick and not rip off ppl like other sellers.

 

I assume you meant $5,000 (not $500). If it is truly only $500 then there isn't even a question. Or get both...

 

Welcome! Is the LNF stock? Just because the engine and turbo are small doesn't mean the car isn't going to last as long.
