New from NY. Well sort of

Hello everyone. The names mark. I've been here before with a base model but, I'm back now with a metallic blue 2007 SS Supercharged. I just picked her up two days ago. It has GM Stage II kit as its only mod. It did have gas in the oil but I have changed it and I am currently monitoring it to see if it comes back. It had been sitting through a very cold winter and it was started and let idle for awhile each day but never driven. Seems to run fine despite that. It hits about 17-18psi at Redline.

As I said on your other thread, not normal. That's not GMSII unless you have a clogged cat.

What do you think it could be? I highly doubt the cat is clogged.

Syracuse area. What other mods could be giving me that much boost? The exhaust is stock.

I don't know why you doubt the clogged cat, it's the only reasonable explanation. You wouldn't have full power and don't always have a engine code thrown. My guess is that you've never actually felt full power because it's been clogged the entire time you've owned the car.

Ive never driven an ss before. I just assumed that if the cat was clogged it would through a code. Also can a clogged cat run rich? It seems to be gulping gas too.

Don't sit there and just rev it. Starting it from cold for no reason is just extra wear.

I wouldn't call it a problem until you check it next time and there's still gas in the oil after you changed it once. I have a hard time trusting exactly what was done by the previous owner.

Had a compression test done and it checked out perfect. Turns out the spark plugs were fouled and running 17psi on gmp stage II is normal here in NY with the cold weather. Check it out with 3 other cobalts running the same mods. So I'm pretty happy and cant wait for spring so I can start modding. Oh and why isnt my text showing up in my sig? Only the image is.

There's only x amount of room vs say a site called your cobalt where it allows unlimited space for a sig that gets ridiculous for some people.

I'm talking about physical space limit how low it'll go. Try putting some text before the image and see if part of the image gets cut off.
