Well I have been happily daily driving my new to me 09 balt ls coupe for the last two weeks. Here it is

My hand was forced to buy it when the transmission died in my 95 trans am. So now that will be my long term project, finally after too many years of daily driving. In its younger years

So the vast majority of any fun money I have will go toward the fire chicken. That doesn't mean I won't put a little into the little 2.2 and body of the balt. Namely want to get some better looking headlights and a CAI to start. Considering it goes 60 miles round trip to work everyday MPG is most important.

And want do you want to do to the car?

I highly recommend a tune since it's an auto trans it'll make a huge difference.

A tune will eventually happen but that will wait for now. Havent done much digging on here yet but are there any free data logging or tuning software available? I have dabbled with tuning on the bird.

The balt is going to be my daily driver that is the goal for it for the next several years. So reliability and MPG and comfortability are most important.

Well A nice upgrade is cruise control. I added it to mine and since I had access to a tech 2 the total cost was $52 and the new SS steering wheel was $46.

I'd like to add I have a 2009 LS but it's a 5 speed. I've also got a full suspension upgrade and loving it (only on for a few days though), powell hardcore rear swaybar, front and rear koni shocks/struts and powell YYZ V.3 springs.

So you're aware the MPG will increase with a tune but you'll need to run premium fuel.

Definitely bought the right car if you're looking for strictly MPG.

No free tuning software. You got HP Tuners and Trifecta.
