Hello everybody. I don't currently have a cobalt ss. But I have a 07 Suzuki forenza. The reason I wanted to join this forum is BC I'm looking to do a engine swap in my forenza and I'm wanting to use a cobalt SS engine tranny and suspension. Just want to get all the info I can on the SS engine and power train along with suspension. I have noticed a few different size engines that the SS has. Just like to get info on them. What's best. Also is there a 6spd tranny in the SS or just the 5spd. Please all the info I can get will be greatly appreciated.

Hmm, hmm, okay, You might not want to do this. It's a bit of work. But really, it's just wiring and putting new mounts.

Welcome and good luck like everyone else said! I'm no expert, but can help answer some questions. The engine you'll want is considered an LSJ, it came out of the supercharged SS's. From what I understand they're better at holding boost (I assume you want to turbocharge, but could be wrong. You're right though; there is the 2.4L LE5 that came out of the SS/NA or Sport edition in later years, the 2.0L LSJ that I mentioned, and the 2.0L LNF that came on the turbocharged cars. There also are 2 versions of the 2.2L (L61 and LAP) that came in the base model versions of the Cobalt.

Why are you choosing such an engine and what are your goals?
