Newbie from Central PA!

Hello everyone! I’m new to this thread but not to Cobalts! My husband and I have 2! He has a red 2005 Cobalt SS/SC and I have a blue Cobalt SS/SC. He has had his since 2007 and I found mine in 2015. We absolutely love our toys! They treat us well and are great running cars! (At least I’m our eyes.)

Both are pretty well stock. His has an aftermarket exhaust, I can hear him coming a 1/4 mile away, mine does not, it’s a “sleeper”! (I rather hear the whine of the SC! LOL!) He did his timing chain maintenance two years ago as well. However, I do have a ZZP PCM upgrade which increased my rev limiter to 7200rpms and gives me another 10HP and I also have a ZZP intake.

My timing chain recently started making some noise which at first I thought was a lifter sticking but I went to start it the one day about a month after the “lifter stick noise” and it sounded rough which led us to believe it was the chain, so it is sitting until I get my chain replaced along with the other necessary things that go with it.

His car has xm radio (stock) and mine doesn’t so I put and aftermarket head unit in so I could Bluetooth it and listen to Pandora, and of course my sub/speakers don’t work the way they did before the install so I’m hoping I can find some useful threads to figure out the issue without installing a separate amp, I rather use my stock system. But of course any and all advice is appreciated!

I have family from there. I don’t get over your way as often as I used to. What does your cobalt look like? I don’t remember seeing one in TC.. I’ve seen a white one with smoked out head and tail light in Halifax I believe, there is a black one in lykens, and eville (I know the kid who owns the one in eville), a maroon one the guy works at Klinger lumber I don’t know where he lives, my neighbor just bought a silver turbocharged one, and my brother in law has a silver staged 2 SC. Those are the ones I know around here.

Welcome! I'm guessing your stereo problem is a wiring issue. Did you use some type of "plug and play" adapter harness?
