I thought HPTUNERS didn't support the 2.2

Figured his 2.2 was a 2007 seeing as how his profile says he owns a 2007 2.2.

This. Even with a stock motor you can make the car more enjoyable using HP Tuners. Just a few simple changes to the HORRIBLE stock tune, and start running 91+ fuel so you can tune more aggressively.

If you buy hp tuners and want to stay N/A (no boost) you can absolutely do it yourself. If you end up buying it I can answer any questions you have about tuning NA. If you want boost I'd seriously consider letting one of the tuning gurus here help ya out with a remote tune.

Can I change the tune down the road if I boost it. Or would I just tune it to the cabability of having boost?

You can tune it unlimited times with HP Tuners. I've flashed probably 50 times on my car changing little things. If you screw up the tune it'll just run like ****. You can change it to run boost also if you want, but it's more risky with boost because if you screw up it means you don't have a motor anymore.

1: You plug the cable into your OBDII port and read the tune on the car.

2: Then modify it.

3: Then flash it back to your car.

It's a software that rewrites the programming in your car's computer basically. All those "performance chips" are? A resistor. Cheap ****. HP Tuners tells your vehicle how to behave under any given operating circumstance. Like how I tell my car to WOT shift at 7krpm now instead of 6400.

HPTuners.com >> Performance At Your Fingertips

You can buy it here for $500, or used on various forums for cheaper. If you are satisfied and want to sell it you can for a reasonable price too.

Whichever you want. The Pro's advantages are that you can hook a wideband O2 sensor and other sensors directly into the tuner cable so you can log more easily. Also supposedly you don't need to have the laptop in the car to log.

But I can read my O2 sensor with the standard version because I took the time to read up on it. Not very difficult. With standard you need to have the cable hooked up to a laptop while logging your car. For me that isn't an issue.

Take your time deciding. A lot of people here think you should just buy an SS if you want performance. It's a learning curve, but like I said if you decide to bite the bullet PM me when you get it and I can help with whatever questions you have.

The fun in that is starting out with over 60 more hp on a better handling suspension package... and ends with the ability to set much higher obtainable power goals
