Dyno

Has anyone thrown this on the dyno yet? Im curious. I cant see it being TOO much different that most of the other exhausts. I mean really the only thing you are changing is the muffler to a straight-through design. I think theres a diameter change too isnt there? Isnt the stock exhaust 2.25' and isnt this exhaust 2.5'?

Element X yours will ship from us when they arrive back in stock, Megan just had one left when he placed the order so I had them drop ship it rather than ship to me then to him

Your intake will arrive today though!

I have two questions. Can someone post up a vid with the silencer in so I can see/hear it? What kind of hp/performance differences does this make with and without the silencer.

I am interested because the deal is awesome. I don't however want a loud ricey sounding car. I would be planning on running with the silencer almost all of the time.

Just got mine in today, and man I cant wait to install it. I looks really high quality, way better than the GMPP sport exhaust I already have. If anybody is interested, I will be selling my used GMPP sport exhaust with the bow tie tip as soon as I get this installed. The exhaust has around 3000 miles on it and I will except any reasonable offer. And once again thanks NGA for such a good deal on a bad ass exhaust.

question. the ad says that the tip is angled out, but on the photos of it installed, it looks like it comes straight back (as it should).

whats the deal?

So the silencer really hurts the power levels?

I don't want a car that is loud and annoying. I just want more power for a decent deal with a little more agressive sound. It would suck to be on a road trip and have this "uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" sound all the freaking time. If the silencer makes it have the performance of the stock exhaust than the would be pointless too. I just think fartpipe exhaust that sounds like a pissed off weed-eater is annoying.

Anyone have a dashhawk like me? Could you please test it with and without the silencer? If there is little difference in performance aside from the sound with the silencer then hell yeah I want one. A dyno would be cool too but I understand the cost and hastle if no one want,s to.

I you want more performance you should of bought a SS/SC bro. If you want to liven up that N/A motor you are going to have to add a FARTPIPE echaust. Sorry if this insults you, but I feel like you just insulted the badass new exhaut I just bought. If I just pissed you off, sorry, but you can always come and race me and I will **** you off even more as you get to here the sound of my FARTPIPE first hand. Then you can let me know how quickly it gets quieter as my car pull farter and farther away from you. Sorry bro, but if you do not like it, dont come into a thread where tons of people just spent there hard earned money for somthing and then insult it like that. If you want to buy one with the silecer in it great, but dont insult the ones of us who are going to run it without.

I am looking for a pracitcal yet fast car. The SC is just not practical for me. I wanted an auto with the option to use 89 octane gas when peremium is not available or I don't feel like paying 20 cents a gallon more. The SS has all the coolest options standard and thats why I picked it over the SC (the $2000 price dif made a difference too) Maby some day I will get the hahn turbo if I think I need a huge boost.

If you like a loud "look at me" exhaust then good for you. I just want more performance without blasting my ears out and annoying the other people around me. If I was racing on a track I would not care as performance is the only goal.

I just want to know if the silencer hurts the performance much.

PS: I am not pissed off at you beacause you have a faster car. The SC Cobalts are cool too. Just not what I need for a work car heh. Now go beat up on some mustangs for me. And make em go deaf too!

Look, sorry if I took it the wrong way, rough day at work today and I was easy to anger. I just cant stand the expression of Fartpipe exhaust when I do not believe this is the case. A fartpipe exhaust to me is the really raspy hollow sounding ones, and my car does not sound this way with my current exhaust nor will it sound this way with this one. My car has a deep, and yes loud, exhaust note that sounds more-so powerful than it does a fartpipe. No hard feelings bro, and I will go beat up on some stangs for you, but only at the track. That is what I love about my car, the satisfaction of beating a V8 with the gas mileage of a four banger. Once again I am sorry for being so quick to over react, and I will try to be a little better with my temper.
P.S. I did not get the exhaust purely for it being louder, although I will admit I do like the way it sounds, but for pure power. With the Stage 2 kit a free flowing exhaust adds more power and I wanted the HP. I also plan on getting the HAHN turbo for the SS/SC when it is released, and the exhaust will really help unlock more potental for that.

Rock on HViper. So what is your oppinion on the performance with the silencer in? Better than stock? I am still seriosly considering getting this at the price they are selling it. 2.5in exhaust for $330 shipped? Sounds like a no brainer.

I allready have the GMPP cold air intake and you can really hear it. It sounds like I have a modifed exhaust system above 3K at WOT (really loud). Luckily it sounds completely stock at lower rpm and throttle. The coolest sound though is when the engine is in top gear at highway speeds and you open the throttle to about 35% while the engine is lugged down.

Thanks for the help.

I have not installed mine yet, and it will probably be about another month to I do. My car is going into the dealer to have the rear ground effects replaced from where they screwed up the install on my GMPP sport exhaust. It was not put on correctly and did a little melting to the underside of my car. I have to have all this fixed by them before the 15th because my car is going into the body shop for my custom paint job. I am having a dark blue pearl sprayed over the black on the whole car, and the dealer has to have my rear ground effects replaced and repainted before I can do this. The car should look black at night, but when the light glares off of it during the day you will see the dark blue tint. This paint job will take at least two weeks to complete, and then I am installing the megan exhaust, CA 2.5 down pipe, and my Injen CAI. It sucks to because all these parts are setting in boxes in my closet now, and I cant wait to put them on. I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night and go stare at my parts imaging how much power and sound this is going to give me. Maybe I am a little crazy, but when you have around $1000 worth of parts setting in your closet it makes it hard to sleep. Funny thing is I just keep buying parts and puting them in my closet. By the time my car is painted I will probably have twice the amount of parts to put on my car. I am planing on buying the CA heat exchanger, dual pass mod, and a big brake kit within the next month. And to top it off I just got a $2700 raise at work which will pretty much go towards the HAHN turbo kit when it is released. I do seriously think I am car crazy, at least that is what my girlfriend says. Later
