I've seen plenty of threads about running nitrous on sc/tc applications. However I haven't seen any for a na setup. I have the 2.2 LAP on a stock tune, what type of nitrous system can I run safely?

This Guy Did
YouTube - N2O Cobalt LS vs Scion TC TRD Supercharged
YouTube - Cobalt SS/SC vs N2O Cobalt LS

Then this happened
YouTube - Cobalt LS Blown Motor

Don't worry that was after running 100-125 shot untuned lol.

I have a 2009 cobalt ls with a 2.2 LAP, stock internals, 2.25" exhaust, intake work and 1 stage colder NGK Iriduim plugs.

I'm on a 50 shot NX wet kit and my car's still running great.
Just make sure you run AT LEAST 93 octane or higher AND 1 step colder plugs and you'll be golden.

They say with the 2.2, anything under a 75 shot is "safe"

I ran a 75 wet shot on my 2.2 for almost a year maybe 8-10 bottles through it. just get rid of the iridum plugs and go one step colder. mine ran great.

holy ****, what kind of retard runs a 100-125 shot untuned? Unless he was trying to blow the engine. I know one guy here on the forums had a fully bult engine in his garage, waiting to be installed. So he kept putting a bigger nitrous shot on and more timing but the engine wouldnt pop, think it was a LSJ though.

I have problem where my setup likes to backfire and im not sure why. I'm on my 3rd intake manifold. I'm pretty sure i know what caused it the first too times and have since corrected the problem, howeverthe last time the bottle had high pressure, and i hit it at 3500 rpm, and it started pulling great, then around 4500 boom there went the mani again and i really am not sure why. The foggers go into my intake just before the throttle body. who knows.

what size shot.. what intake manifold are you running ( 2.2 or 2.4) and how much before the TB is the fogger?

its setup for a 75, on the stock 2.2 intake manifold. I'm running an injen intake, and the foggers go into the driver side of it right in the middle (as opposed to drilling out the intake from the top or anywhere else)

On the previous two after they happened I checked the plugs and they were pretty white with the side electrodes burned off so I did add a one step larger fuel jet then I had. I checked the plugs after the last time and they looked pretty good.

I just am not sure why that happened that high in the rpms. The bottle had been warmed pretty much all day since we were on cruise so there was definately pressure.

Any kit you do should be a wet kit. And 50-75 shot should be just fine on that car. I CAN tune those and Ive seen you show up to a few events we were at, hit me up man

so you have it literally RIGHT before it goes into the engine? most people i've seen have done it between the TB and MAF it might not be atomizing correctly and thus causing puddling in the manifold.. also .. you should get the 2.4 intake manifold.. it's a stronger manifold to begin with

do you have 1 step colder plugs and have them gapped to like .38 or so ?

Also, with NO2... You need to start shooting it while the motor is already making power and freely revving for best results, especially without a tune specifically for it.
