New to here...

I have a 2006 Chevy Cobalt SS 2.4L.

So far I installed a NOS Wet Kit that my b/f had stored in his room from his stock 240 motor. Its a 50shot.

Question is: Is there anybody else using Nitrous on their 2.4L engine? I need some info about spraying the 2.4L engine.

What is the part # for the cold range spark plugs? Is a 75shot recomended? Also Everytime I spray, the Check Engine Light comes on aswell as the Tracton Control Light. That kinda worries me. Does anybody Else have that problem?

I only wish I was spraying a 2.4...that 13 sec. timeslip would be all mine!

What kind of code are you throwing? I could see the TC light coming on...well because you probably don't have any.

Are you running stock plugs? I'm not sure how similar the 2.4 is to the 2.0 and 2.2 but most people run NGK BKR7E's...

I don't see any reason why you couldn't run a 75 shot on your motor but I would get it working without throwing any CEL's before moving up.

Claud's BF:

Well, I can't exactly take it anywhere to scan the CEL... because it only comes on during spray. When the race is over, the CEL goes away aswell as the TC light.

So I'm guessing that the motor is sensing that there is some missing fuel due to using a wet kit with throws it into the intake rather than the injectors.

And with the spray, the motor kinda dies out after 60mph and feels like somthing is pulling me back.

So, mabey I have to upgrade the fuel pump or just get a FPR. Sugestions?

But I dont want to go anything past a 50shot until I get all the bolt-ons and a solve my fuel pressure problem.

Welcome to the train wreck that is CSS.net! JK! Sorry don't know about spraying these little engines. The only car I ever sprayed was my 500 + hp Fire Bird, sprayed it with 100 hp and ran a flat 10 seconds at almost 140 mph!

I don't believe you would have any sort of fuel issues when spraying a wet kit on this motor...especially on only a 50 shot. Where are you tapping for fuel?

Are you still on stock plugs? If you are I would look for a set of colder plugs and then see what happens as shitty/bad plugs would also rob you of some power.

its too bad you don't have a Dashhawk, you could scan the code as soon as it came on.

Welcome to the site. I'm not a huge fan of NOS, but I would have to say that you will have to upgrade the injectors long before replaceing the fuel pump as far as upgrading goes. I also second the question about upgrading the plugs and if you have done that yet?? I'm sure someone else with a lil more knowledge on this mod will chime in and help more. Good luck and welcome again.

If your going to upgrade the injectors. Buy up one of these supercharged guys old injectors. They'll probably sell them to you for the cost of shipping. All you need is a 2.2l engine injector harness.
