nitrous on my 2.4auto

after hitting the track sat. and disappointed about my runs i was thinking of doing a 50 shot of nitrous.
My questions which would be better a wet shot or a dry shot and for me being na only doing a 50 shot would i need to get tuned.
I was looking at the kit zzp sell they give you 3 options 55,65,75 shot which i hear are all safe.
Just want to know if i do wet shot if i would need a tune.
Also what are the differences between wet and dry shot

thanks
donnie

I actually was just thinking about this last night, i have a 2.2 with 2.4 intake manifold, intake, exhaust, shift kit and HP tune and i was a bit disappointed with the power.

Just wondering how well these motors hold N02 but I can amagine it would take a 75 shot fine as long as its wet. I think im going to do it in the future.

what did you run i think i should be faster even without a tune but i have intake and exhaust and i could only pull a 16.1 at 83.5mph

yeah 42s and becareful with wet ive used a 75 dry thats hooked up to a safety switch and only comes on after i flip the switch and its only dumping into intake at WOT and once i let off gas it kicks off until back onto WOT so i dont send N2O while there is no fuel going through motor

If you are actually serious about this read ALOT of information before you do this. My good buddy has a 100 shot on his Spec-V QR25 motor and it pulls very good, but he has about $700 into the entire system from window switches, purge kits, lines, bottle heater, pressure guages, etc. DO NOT just buy a 'basic' kit and strap it on, you while blow your engine because you will not know/have good control of the system. Search other forums for more information on nitrous use, there are alot of other platforms where nitrous is huge: they have tons of great information.

When you really think your ready (at least a few weeks) start looking for quality pieces and piece together a kit. Good luck if you decide to go through with it.

woh.. you dont need injectors for a wet shot.. a tune would help right now .. a tranny tune will really wake up the car anyway but not necessary for a wet shot. what other mods do you have?

^ i am wondering the same as elce.

my 06 SS/NA ran 14.9, 2.2 60' with a K&N SRI and a Megan Caback. Granted i am a 5 speed, so you would be a little slower, but not more than a second.

Who put a 75 shot on a cobalt? That sounds like a terrible idea.

if i have to buy the wife a minivan ill be hanging onto my 2.2 for while rather than going to a ss or hhrss. so id run the zex kit from zzp. probably on a 65-75 shot.

what were your 60' times?

my 60's were a 2.6 i only have a k&n ram air intake and catback 2.5 exhaust also a small underdrive pulley no traction control and i hold my brake and hold the gas all the way to the floor and it won't go higher than 2000 rpms so i have a good takeoff but i think even without a tune i should be faster. i mean it ran a 16.4 stock so idk
some input on what to do to get it faster would help
It seemed faster to me but i guess the s2000 and the charger were that slow i got both off them until we hit the 1000 foot mark

the LTH will open the car up in the high RPMS but not so much in the mid range. if you paln on racing the car alot id say its a good idea, but if you want more mid range to top end power, i would suggest the Mid length combo.

theres your problem.. if you had a 2.2 60' your times would be almost a second faster

also from what I understand you should try the L I D method to "manually" shift your car

you dont need shift plus if you're getting a tune

you think if i manually shifted the car that my times would be faster but if i put it in low will it shift itself into second or not i know in (I) it will shift itself into 3rd but not sure about if it will shift itself into 2nd from L.
Hopefully the b&m shift plus will help a little until can get the header and dp and tune

I honestly wouldn't waste the money on a B&M if you're going to get a tune.. the shift plus is going to run you just about the price of a tune if I remember correctly it's like 250 right ?

i think the shift plus was around $100, but still not worth it if youre getting tuned.

Your car will (99.99999999% sure) shift itself from 1 to 2 when you get the RPMs up. i know my dads 2003 Silverado shifts into 2nd from first automatically once it gets near redline.

^ a quick google search says youre correct. I would still hold off if getting HP tuned in the near future. but i guess its not a bad price for a simple mod!

ya im getting it from a memeber on here for 30 shipped from canada so not bad that will help for now.
so you think that the man. shift will get my 60's down to around where they are suppose to be
maybe the track timer was messed up cause don't s2000's run faster than a 15.3
