Nitrous solinoid/Window switch issues

Ok, so i have the zex kit, and a MSD window switch.

Im having issues working with the window switch. I narrowed it down to the nitrous solonoid, and the issue only occurs when the power to the solinoid is turned on and the ground is dissconnected or the window switch is connected to the solinoid ground.

when this power is switched on under these conditions it throws the car into power reduced mode, but as soon as i switch the on point on the window switch below the idle speed, or reconnect the regular ground wire, the car returns to normal.

So ive narrowed it down i think (not positive) to the TPS wire on the solinoid throwing a bad signal to the throttle body when the power is switched on with no ground.

I need to figure how to work around this. and fix it. Help me.

which window switch do you have and are you running the noids on the usually closed end of the msd or the usually open? it needs to be on the usually open end. this means when you hit your rpm window the switch will close completing the circuit.

like i said, its not the window switch, i have it working great. but when the nitrous solinoid has the normally open ground offf the window switch hooked up, or the ground not hooked to the solinoid at all, once the arming switch is flipped on, the car goes limp.

maybe i didnt do the right wire on the TB.

has to be the TPS wire thats what i narrowed it down to.

my power source isnt the issue(triple checked, i change power sources) same with the groundings.

I tapped into my purple wire coming off the TB. and yes the zex kit

Thats the Open ground coming off of the window switch hooked to the ground on the solinoid

this is the wire i tapped off of the coil pack for the tach signal

please excuse the crude test fittings.

when you first programmed the tps did it allow you to go through the whole process or it did it start flashing red-green-off after pressing the program button without touching the throttle?

the ground on the noid should be grounded to the car the yellow wire on the window switch should be wired to the power for the noids. can you supply me with a schematic of exactly how you wired your system?

so you are saying that i need the yellow to the power wire?

the MSD description of the yellow is as follows: Normally Open. This wire will provide a ground source at your desired On
rpm, and remove the ground at the set Off rpm.

yeah the msd will power on the zex noid completing the circut and the noids ground should be grounded to the car.

when they state ground source they mean power will flow through. you need a relay between the two points.

well fix it for the yellow tho now. since its wrong give me like 5 mins to test it.

the way i had it hooked up originally was the only way that worked. i tried what you had told me and that didnt work.

ok so my wiring is good. lol that takes care of that but, that dosent explain the limp mode
its the power thats going into the solenoid with no ground going out the white input like for the tps and freaking the car out? thats the only thing that makes sence?

so now we have to look at my wiring on the TB. what wire did you tap? purple?

Get rid of that tps and get a micro switch. And put it under your gas pedal.

Great Lakes in union grove. about 5 cobalt going.

wait wait, inline with the arming switch? u mean one side of the switch on the power line, and one side wired to the white tps wire off the solenoid?

Just run it with your main power wire. Why dont you have all those cobalts going to union grove come down to rt 66. We got a bunch of guys going too.
