Spinning when spraying?

What is the general consensus to this? Let off to stop spinning or stay on it and shift to the next gear?

Automatic or Manual?

If in a manual, you do not want to change gears while your tires are spinning, because it leads to premature wear on the clutch & supporting parts.

BTW, what trim is this for?

SC.

I spin them just punching it in 2nd, tires start to catch about 6200-6500 and then I keep on going into 3rd

Here's the thing, nitrous is either on or off.

That and nitrous gets ugly when you are on/off very rapidly.

I'm just curious if letting the tires spin while spraying is a bad idea.

That's my next motive.

I have some nice kumhos for when it's warm, but this winter is kicking my ass.

Don't forget the ground gets mighty cold where I'm at in jersey, aint warm like Florida.

If you're spinning then you're not going anywhere. If you have an SS/SC I wouldn't turn the spray on until maybe half way through 2nd or maybe even wait until you shift into 3rd. If you flip the switch and all you do is spin then it's not helping you at all. Using spray in 1st is completely pointless and I"m thinking 2nd would be pretty pointless as well... Jusy my $.02

1st gear is useless on the SS/SC's it's too short and if you punch it all you do is spin. I don't think anything but slicks would help us there...

if you're spinning completely through 2nd you probably shouldn't be using your nitrous in 2nd. problem solved :

That's what I said. Personally if I was a bottle baby I wouldn't be turning it on until I hit 3rd...

In the summer.

Before the nitrous came out the car it wouldn't spin at all in 2nd.

I'm worried about the winter.

Spinning and spraying won't hurt anything. Bouncing off of rev limiter well spraying is a huge no no.

dan in the winter you can't spray if your on all season tires or junky tires. where we live you will not get traction. if you don't want to spin you will have to do a 60mph roll. if the bottle temp is past 900psi in 2nd gear you are going to spin. if you don't use a bottle warmer and run 600-700psi and have the heat on in the car lol you prob will not spin at 40mph in 2nd gear

I was hoping for input from you since you know the weather. I'm on summer only tires and they spin in the cold right now slightly until 60 or so. I was wondering if it'll do any damage to the car.

I got a bottle warmer now too so you can bet I'll be pushing it at 950psi all day long.

how is it holding up (the engine and all)? what fuel jet are you running? did you up it so it is safer or are you running a custom tune?

if the bottle temp is low you will not be running the full shot but you will not spin. not spinning is better than spinning. my recommendation for you if you can warm up the tires and once it is warm again i believe the best tires we can get are kdw2's.

you should come up and let me fill up your bottle and run me for fun again. i got my bottle warmer hooked up now too.

also i ran 13.4 @ 107 with these all season tires i am running that are junky. that was w/o the bottle warmer and i had the pressure gauge on and i was at 700psi bottle temp or so. plan on going back once more this season, would you want to come to watch or video tape or run your car for fun?

I tuned it now and I got a permit as well. The jets are staying the same, I'm just gonna play with the bottle pressure to see what I like better.

i edited my last post if you can read it and add if you would want to come to the track with me before this season is over. also who tuned your car? if you tuned it yourself would you mind tuning me and limiting my boost and also making the exhaust engine light turn off?
