Tuning for a 50 DRY

As some of you may know, I blew my motor, and I putting it back together with north of $3000 worth of parts/work. The motor will laugh at 600 hp. At first I'm putting it back with the stock ported eaton. I will be around 400 whp on race gas with that set up, like many of the cobra guys I want to do a 50 shot of nitrous, mostly for cooling purposes. I want to do a 50 dry to keep it simple, but I've never tuned for nitrous. Should I just tune it to run uber rich OFF the spray?

I thought you said before you didn't believe in nitrous and would never use it?

yeah you nitrous hater...

well for one your off the bottle performance is going to suffer because you wont be able to run as much timing as you normally would but I'm sure you know that.

you know I've never actually thought of how you would tune for a dry shot. if you were running wet it'd be much easier IMO because you could just switch out the fuel jets to get the right amount of fuel needed under nitrous use.

It would be much easier for you to run a wet shot on the lsj, contact zinner, he should be able to give you some great info on this, he has been runing a 50sh0t, and 75 shot nicely.

A dry shot would be interesting. The limiting factor would be max'ing out the MAF range and/or the P0068 CEL.

The dry shot is supposed to cool the MAF and make it believe it's drawing more air in, this would probably cause a P0068 CEL and limp mode after a point.

The PCM has no idea that a wet shot is happening so less chances of CEL/CODES.

This is just speculation. I believe there was a person running a 50 shot on a Redline ION, Derrickz28 ?? Obviously they would know how the engine reacts.
