just a little quick dumb question : i considered getting nitrous but i am terribly scared of messing somethin up, so would it be possible to get WOT swith and TPS switch running together so the kit would go only when both are in optimal conditions ? ( along with a window switch )

I would think that would be a waste....I only say that cause they both are made for when the Throttle is Wide Open. From the sounds of it your best bet for use on optimal conditions is the TPS. It seems more accurate. Seems like the WOT switch is kind of a guessing game in away.

The WOT isnt a guessing game. Its a 0 or a 1. Its just a physical switch, that when the throttle lever or the pedal push it, it completes the switch. Both the TPS and the WOT switch work perfectly well, they just do it differently. THe WOT switch is much cheaper too i think.

Installation of a tps isnt hard, just splice into the tps signal, and hook it up into the circuit youre building with the nitrous stuff.

WOT switch is even easier. Just mount it where it will be pressed at WOT.

Getting a TPS and WOT switch is possible, but redundant and not worth it really. Its more complicating things than making it helpful. A single WOT switch and window switch suffices for safety.

Ive come to find that its much easier to think of the nitrous electronics as a circuit, then you can visualize how all the switches come together to trigger the nitrous.

Took me about 2 weeks to install it, doing it on the weekends while going to school and working.

So just to follow up before I order anything.....With that NX TPS switch you posted earlier work with the Dynoetune kit? Not sure if you can mix and match.

I"ll be installing the ZEX 8120 kit this weekend,,, has the FMU with the TPS switch I'll take and post up pics saturday or sunday... I don't see this taking more than 3 hours to install and I have all the accessories minus the remote bottle opener ... so I'll post up on installing all parts

and post up a wiring schematic when you're done since thats the same setup I have...

oh and ORT yes its okay to mix and match, they all do the same thing they just have differen't names branded on them. if u have a dynotune kit then they should have TPS switches on dynotunenitrous.com...just get one from there.

Ohhh ok. I went ahead and ordered the MSD switch anyways. I like that you have a little more adjustability with a window switch then a TPS. So now I just need to install the whole kit and I should be gold

And 06blackg85ss definatly post those pics up when you get the chance.

Also, does any one have 1/4 mile times on a 2.2 running atleast a 50 shot?

does your kit come with a TPS switch already? i was actually looking at dynotunenitrous.com and they have a window switch that acts as a TPS switch as well.

you still need the TPS switch if you just wanna flip the switch and go vs having to play with the throttle and arming switch.

the ZEX 8120 kit has the TPS switch built in... I'm adding on a window switch (ZEX) for safety and the skip shift feature so I dont spray in first gear.... ($125 on e-bay from atlantic speed)..
plus witt the bottle warmer... pressure guages and the dual purge kit... should strike fear in the hearts of many around here... should be all done tomorrow or saturday.. and pics will be posted...

Yeah i didn't get that from dyno tune. I got the MSD window switch. So what your saying is i will have to have the car at WOT to activate the window switch then arm the nitrous?

yeah I saw that zex window switch on ebay, I was thinking about getting it and getting rid of my MSD but I'll only do that if I'm still gettin troubles with the MSD.

oh and ORT, your kit doesn't come with a TPS switch right? i've actually never thought of the need for a TPS or WOT switch if you have a window switch. i guess it would be possible to spray in that rpm range without being WOT, what kind of effects would that have?

to just be able to flip the arming switch and go I'm thinkin you need the TPS switch as well as the window switch.

I don't have a tps switch I just have the little switch that gets mounted under the gas pedle. So when thats activated it should then spray the nitrous when the gas is floored right as long as its in the settings of the window switch? lol does that make sense?

im running a dynotune TPS switch, well i was till it started on fire out of the blue i now have a red button im definately not a nitrous newb and i hate having it on a button, but i know not to spray under 3000 rpm, and when im not floored i need to get another TPS switch on it! the dynotune was nice, but i have no clue why it started on fire, it worked fine for the 1st few days then we smelt smoke. theres a tps switch out there that wont spray through 1st gear and engages in 2nd, a buddy of mine has it in his 05 GTO, he said you set it to pass a certain rpm, after it passes that RPM once it arms the solinoids. spraying through 1st sux!

cool, I was looking over the zex instructions again today for that switch

I'm assuming power goes to the relay
green to tach signal
ground to ground
now with the two white wires i know one goes to the relay which I assume will activate the NMU
so that leaves one left over white one...don't know where that goes...TPS on the NMU? but then u'd have to have a wire go from that to the TPS on the TB.

hmm...
