Im very interested in Nitrous on the SS/SC. i have been researching it a good while now. and have had some small experience with how it works and installations on a friends mustang.

but as i have never run nitrous myself, let alone on my own new car....im watching with curiosity at how the bottle is going on your ss/sc's


from what ive seen so far the results look very promising.
my real question though, is who has been running the bottle for a while.....
how many bottles have you run through your engine?
have you had any problems?
Does the engine seem as strong now as it did when you first sprayed?

Mostly im interested to see how our engines are standing up to the bottle over time.

ive run 1 20lb bottle through my car, still going strong

 

1 more positive note for nitrous.

the stage 3 GM kit is including a 55 shot on stock internals.


hmmmmm I like the look of that.

What size shot are you useing?

 

A buddy of mine soccer... has NOS on his ride. He seems to like it a lot. Said it gives him a 7 - 10 mph increase when he sprays.

 

55, im going to bump it up to a 75 i think.

 

woah woah woah there haus, where did you hear that the stage 3 is gonna have a 55 shot on it ?? i've heard news of stg3 kit but not any info more than that...

 

I"ll be running a 50 or 75 shot in a few weeks..... come on 12's

 

if a 55 shot is a fact then it makes you wounder how much ponies the LSJ can take b4 you actually need internal work.

I can not see GM including this with the stage 3 and if they do they will not warrenty the stage3 then

The guys who are spraying with wet kits, i hope you guys are spraying after the blower.

 

Met a guy with a SS/SC who had a custom direct port 100HP hit! He had that, intake, downpipe and 3" exhaust <custom maybe>. Crazy thing is, he is on his 3rd 10LB bottle. Just thought I'd share!

 

I am spraying 75 before the blower. I might drill and tap the intake manifold, but for now putting it in the intake is less permanant.

Why dont u get that thing intense sells, it allows the SC to be mounted 1/2 inch higher. Its like a metal gasket and u can tap after the blower.

 

Cause if I spent that 150 bux I can get another nozzle and some t fittings and do a dual 110 HP shot on the intake manifold.

 

Why would you hope that. This has already been discussed a hundred times before, the nitrous and fuel don't hert the blower.

 

No need to rehash this again. I am gonna do what I want, and others can do what they want.

Hey zinner, how "temporary" is your kit? could you yank it for any serious warruntee work if you needed to and be undetected?

I honestly thought that I saw something about the fuel deteriating the blades.

 

I met a guy with scratches on his SC rotors, rust spots, and tiny missing pieces. He's got an intake, 2.85 pulley, exhaust and downpipe. He is on his 3rd bottle <50hp before blower>. I saw that **** with my own eyes. Trust me, even though he is on his 3rd tranny and 5 stock clutches. He has been spraying for 3 bottles now. Trust me when I tell you, he pushes that car hard! Thus the increased wear and tear on his 2004 Redline. But thats what your blower will look like in a couple years, believe it! Do it right and do it after the blower, next time I see him Ill beg him to pull the intake and yank the SC so I can take pics <I doubt he will go for that>.

I have 3 holes in my dash, I have a hole in my trunk for the blow down tube, and the nitrous line.

If you looked you would see something was installed.

If I blew it up I would just fix it myself and not try to commit fraud. It would be a great excuse for an engine build up. I seriously doubt a 50 shot is going to blow anything up, damage the blower maybe in time. I haven't seen any real proof, just lots of posts with claims...

I will be removing my blower at some point to plumb the nozzle in the intake manifold, I will report back then.
