Talking Zex Nitrous Pics

Okay so i'm a little retarded. I uploaded a few pics of my nitrous install in the vbgarage section up the top. I can't figure out how to upload the photo's into one of these threads so bear with me. It shows my activation and purge switches, under the hood, and the bottle in the trunk. One thing I did was re-route the seat popper for the back seat, so I can pop it from the interior to get to the bottle valve. My screen-name in the vbgarage is obxmush. If you want some more picture's via e-mail, hit me up at obxmush@aol.com Latr Edit......go down 2 replies to see pictures

What size jettings are you running for the fuel/nitrous mixture ? i would assume, some thing like .038 for teh nitrous and .027 for teh fuel right, or something close to that. I hope i put my decimals in the right place lol.

Cool

To IonNinja the last picture is just showing where I ran the seat popper to. I don't know about the Ion, but in the Cobalt you can only tilt the seat down from the trunk. There is a little lever that you pull on. I re-routed it into the passenger compartment so I could fold the seat down from inside to get to the bottle......For the little bit of stealth that is left. And for the rest....I don't know the jets off the top of my head but I am running a 55 shot. I don't want to kill my baby......

Wow, damn good idea...i hate how you have to pull that thing from inside the trunk. I didn't know you could re-route those things. What'd you have to do to re-route it?

Oh and yeah I think stickin with a 55 shot is a good idea, maybe install a tranny cooler also.

have you sprayed yet?

I just pulled it down from the top and tucked it back under the carpet. There was a little break in the plastic trim right behind the seat, and that's where I poked it through. I haven't made a notch for it to snap into yet though. And, no I haven't juiced it yet. The guy who filled my bottle ran out at 2 pounds. He didn;t charge me, but also asked that I didm't run it. The guy's pretty cool though. He said next fill upis free too. Only stipulation....I gotta take him for a ride.

I like how you just rerouted the seat opener. I just put my bottle on the right side, and leave the seat popped all the time and im able to reach it if i reach back to open it, and i can see the pressure gauge from that side as well.

I agree with the guy, dont spray because you wont get a very strong shot of nitrous, just a lot of fuel. All youll do is bog down if theres not enough juice. I predict your car pulling super hard especially whent he vvt and nitrous kick in at the same time.

sweet ride.

I think a 50 shot puts you some where in the .030-.040 range, but thats cool man, best of luck to you. Im kinda trying to get a similar setup going but working on other things for the car to breathe better first.

Im having spark plug issues, rough idling. But the nitrous systems runs flawlessly, and i raped some integra last night with the 50 shot, so the nitrous definitely works. Ive kept regapping to 0.035 but its not working. I dunno. I need to reset the ecm or something, but i have no clue where the ecm fuse is, and havnt really checked. Im limiting myself to spraying 3 times a week. Helps with the wallet, and wear and tear. This is my dd, and im broke.

/hijack.

I think my 50 shot, for the ION, is set too.. 0.33 nitrous and 0.18 for fuel. Nitrous should be about the same jetting, but our fuel pressures may be different so disregard the fuel jetting.

Obx, i think you should paint the zex stuff, because the purple is really throwing off your yellow car. Again, its a really nice and clean setup, i cant imagine how your going to clean it up anymore.

appreciate the compliments fatalis, and this is my daily driver too. As odd as it is I kinda like the purple. It's different. That could deffinitly change in the future though. Everything else is changing constantly. When I get bored on the weekends I start painting ****, so we'll see. I go the ***** to paint the wheels with enough corona, so what the hell..... Thanks again.

Oh yeah, just a techincal bit. The zex kit has a built in tps switch. Tap into the purple wire on the ETC harness. Just to make sure, turn the car to the on position, but do not start it. Hook up a volt-meter to the purple wire. It should jump to about one volt. Go inside and step on the throttle(all the way to the floor) the volt-meter should jump up to around 5 volts. That is your wide open throttle. With the zex kit, hook into that. Arm the system, on the side of the purple control box is a button, push it. The led light on the side will turn red, with the car in the on position(not running) push and hold the throttle pedal to the floor for 10 seconds. The led on the side of the box should now be green. Turn the system off then on, if you push the pedal to the floor and let off you should hear the solenoids opening and closing. Now it is programmed for your tps........

great thats something I need to know since I think I'm gonna end up and stick with the Zex kit.

I think I kinda like the TPS switch better and the engine bay looks cleaner...just not a fan of the purple.

Sounds like you need a buddy with you to help program the TPS switch though right?

which plugs do you run Fatalis? when I get mine I'm gonna try some different from what you're running and see if I have the same issues.
