Zex Nitrous Pics
Ninja, im running the NGK 7e plugs i mentioned in my earlier post. Im going to order another set and give them a try, but im not sure yet. Elvis keeps saying to use his srt4 plugs, but i have no clue about those.
Also, if the NX express is harder than the Zex kit, the zex kit should be a breeze. I intalled the NX kit with ease and it worked the first time I sprayed on it, so zex should be loads easier. Im working on the ion nitrous install at this time too, ill probably be done by the time you order your kit.
The only thing i dont know is where to get the TPS signal. Im guessing near the ignition thing that i put my RPM tap?

no no the tps (throttle position sensot) will be on the throttle body. there should be a plug on the throttle body. use a volt meter to check with the car on, on wire will have almost no voltage the when you open the throttle it will jump up to 5 volts or close to it. the motor does not have to be running. on the newer cobalts we have a drive by wire (no throttle cable) so you will need someone to move the peddle.

Hook up a volt-meter to the purple wire. It should jump to about one volt. Go inside and step on the throttle(all the way to the floor) the volt-meter should jump up to around 5 volts. That is your wide open throttle. With the zex kit, hook into that. Arm the system, on the side of the purple control box is a button, push it. The led light on the side will turn red, with the car in the on position(not running) push and hold the throttle pedal to the floor for 10 seconds. The led on the side of the box should now be green. Turn the system off then on, if you push the pedal to the floor and let off you should hear the solenoids opening and closing. Now it is programmed for your tps........
Thanx for the tip. I am in the middle of installing my zex system right now. Waiting on some longer 3AN hoses since I wanted to mount my NMU farther than two feet away.
The Zex kit is great, other than the hose lengths. I can understand whay they make them short but at the same time it sucks. And of course I have the patience of a fly, so I had to install it the second I got it
I'm done my first friggin bottle already. It hit's great, not too much that it feels like my ***** gonna fall apart, but a great pull. I don't have any video of the purge, after I get the bottle refilled I will take some night time pics of it. Oh and word to the wise......Zex claims the machine gun purge is so loud, Save your money, if you want the looks get a regular led purge and push the button really fast. Thats all the control module does. It's not loud, and if i wanted to I could rapid fire it faster using my finger.......
Yeah it's a 55 shot. I wish I could get you track times in a timely manner, but the closest track to me is about 90 miles and it's only 1/8 mile. Pointless to me. Next time i visit philly and have some free time I will go to Atco New Jersey and run it....
