It really depends on the stealership. Legally, a vehicle manufacturer cannot void the warranty on a vehicle due to an aftermarket part unless they can prove that the aftermarket part caused or contributed to the failure in the vehicle (per the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act).

GM CAI AND EXHAUST will not void your warranty. the other manufactures there is always a slight chance of you having to pay for some things as some of the CAI are oiled and if oiled incorrectly can cause a CEL which would not be covered under warranty. not sure about the 3rd party exhaust manufacturer's.

i think you meant they said yes, it would void your warranty. if it was me i wouldn't of even asked andybody from the dealership, if you install it correctly and and keep up with the maintenance on it you shouldn't have any problems that would void your warranty in the first place bro..

Yes you can, no they cannot void your warranty, find a new dealership, and do yourself a favor and don't talk to them about your future plans for the car...it will not end well for you

you can take it wherever you want. I wouldn't take my car to the place I got it if it was the last chevy dealer on earth

I like how everyone hates the dealer, till their **** starts falling apart, not all dealers are ********, i have worked at a chrysler dodge jeep dealer for 3 years and only 1 person has had their warranty voided for mods, it was an srt 4 with a HUGE turbo that had a blown headgasket, he was running 25 psi. If you mess it up, that is your problem, not the dealers, yes, some dealers are dicks, but its their job to be, if the manufacturer denies their warranty claim, they have to pay for the WHOLE thing.

yes not all dealers are dicks but some of them do take things a little too far with the little things like screwin someone because they added a CAI and Exhaust most places won't bother but there is always one that does. i work at a chevy dealership in the service side of things so i've scene it all.

if warranty is that big of an issue to you, leave your car stock. not trying to be a dick, but at least you'll have piece of mind that way.

There are laws that dealerships cannot voild your warranty for putting on aftermarket products.

If you put on a Corsa brand cat back, the dealer can void your warranty on the "exhaust cat back" ONLY, BECAUSE there is no stock (factory) exhaust on the car. But putting on a Corsa cat back will not void the warranty on the rest of the car...
