If you set up a trip like this you should do it when CED is going on

 

What is CED?

 

crate engine depot meet. i went last year and it was fun

 

CED is a yearly meet held in Chicago, put on by the vendor Crate Engine Depot. Back in the day there would be 200 Cobalts/Ions/G5s/HHRs easy. People drove from New York, California, Florida and Canada, no problem. Sometimes there would be 10+ plus car convoys from those areas.

In the past few years attendance has dropped to maybe 100 people, if we're lucky. People won't make the drive, they all want massive meets in their backyard.


We used to have monthly meets in Chicago with 20+ cars. Over the past year we've stopped because no one comes because again, no one wants to drive. Everyone wants the meet to be 10 minutes away, and drives of 30 minutes are too far to go to a different suburb. I was part of the planning group for these meets, and I'm just about over trying to set things up just for people to complain and not show up.

Two years ago we had a Kenosha area group going all summer. Had probably 10 cars who came out every month. That one stopped since 3 people moved, including the guy who planned everything.

I'm guessing you just want to get a big Milwaukee/Kenosha/Chicago group going. I wish you luck.

 

i should be out to the summer one. we will see how things are with the car by then

 

I came last year and there was like 30-40... It was bad weather though so I'm gonna blame it on that. I didn't help any either I didn't even have my car there lol. It'll be there this year though

 

Yeah im gonna go to CED for sure but i got 3 other friends of mine that drive a Cobalt SS & are also trying to set some stuff up. I live in kenosha & there is at least another ss i drive past every day lol
