I wouldnt recommend you to put hids in the stockers, But if you do PLEASE aim them down so you dont blind everyone.

My current headlights came out pretty good, so I wouldn't want to chance them with a retrofit. I'd rather start on a fresh set. That way if I screw up, I still have a good set of black ones. They've been through enough rain that I"m confident they aren't going to leak.

You retrofit projectors into the stock headlights. The projectors have the cutoff so the light doesn't scatter. It's the right way to do it.

Christmas bonus = HIDs for me I think.

Went to BIR and sucked all night long last night. It wasn't busy though. I got 13 passes in. C'mon people, lets go Aug 5

There were 3 cobalts and an Ion! I think I lost to them all

Ryze - how much did it cost to dyno? Maybe I should have mine done to see where I'm at.

OHhhhhh that vimeo was a good one cuda, I do think they were a little dumb ripping off metal from the projector housing, just snip it. But that acrylic mold was cool. I am down to do this. That mold would make the SS stock housing look much better and just do like yours cuda, all flat black inside. I think we should get a weekend all set aside, a bunch of us order that and just have a guys night at someones house doing this. We'll all get them done and take time, ie. the whole weekend! Cuz if you notice it does take some time. specially to get them very nice.

You can make a homemade vacuum mold pretty easily. The only reason I'm up for doing this now is I found that projector set designed specifically for retrofitting. That video had a great tip with resealing and that's the worst part of the process to me. Slap them back together, heat it back up, then seal the outside to be sure.

What's up guys! Just bought a Black 2006 Cobalt SS/SC last week with only 24k miles got a really good deal on it because it came threw my dealership so had to trade in the ls for it. I know for sure it already has stage 2 on it, don't think anything else but it is way faster then my modded cobalt ls lol!! Are any of you guys around Brooklyn Park? Have only seen a yellow one that says supercharged on the Windshield driving around

You fit the projectors right to your reflector housing. You can use the normal adjustment of the headlights to move the projector up and down. I'm pretty sure that's how it works from what I remember when I had my lights apart.

cuda we should make a retrofit shop for cobalts

I'm totally down for this, I absoulutly hate my headlights. But we also need to find a GOOD quality HID plug n play kit. How does those kits work as we have drl's. I've heard some kits disable them, but do the hid's come on when its dark then?

I've heard you just pull the fuse for the DRL. Some kits will up the voltage to the lights so they are on full all the time, which is retarded.

If the fuse is for the light sensor, then you'd lost your auto lights. It'd be easy to test though when it gets dark out tonight.

well I swear some vendor on here had a HID kit that had it...I'll have to look again. Otherwise it would just take a small microcontroller.
