You know what would be really cool...having everyone locally who wants this done to do it at the same time and we can all help each other and pay Ryan for his time and resources as well. That would be tough though I'm sure.
Ryan, didn't you do Chris' install? Or did you just do the tuning for him?

He did the install, but I helped him get it to RUN, and tuned it for him.
did a few spring installs, clutches, exhausts, and most recently the engine work on my car.
ps. mass tuning is not easy nor fun.. to many people with to many different things going on.

HMM, I didn't think of that part of it, just the install part...nevermind that idea then...lol. Well if you happen to be interested when the time comes in some extra money for installing/tuning...I definitely wouldn't mind coming to you. I had Elite give me a quote last year to do it, but things came up and I never was able to follow through (now I'm sure they would charge more because at the time they were running a special shop rate).

Haven't personally done a 2.2 but have done plenty of 2.0's and they are basically the same. Cake walk if you got the *right* tools.
I think the last ss i did took ~3 hrs. (Pays 7.8 hrs )
And my saturn which I had the trans out a few weeks ago took under 2.5 hrs. But I no longer have a oil cooler which helped quite a bit

drop the subframe, drop the tranny.
engine takes way to long, engine is *supposed* to come out the bottom. but you can take it out the top pretty easily if you remove the accessories and the timing cover. Still its the long way to do it.
I put my new engine in and had a oil leak (thank you shitty shop that assembled it) , that's why the transmission came out, instead of the engine because 2.5hrs is way easier than 8+hrs

you think i could do it with the help of a couple friends within a day? i've never done it before but i've always went by the phrase "you won't know til you try"... do i have to move anything from the top end? i'm assuming i have to take everything on the driver side suspension out, right?

One day yes, if your fast and familiar with the car.
You need an engine support bar.
top end stuff is the top transmission bolts, Clutch line, shift linkage. Tie up the radiatior. remove ecu.
bottom end stuff. both axles, 6 bolts holding the radiator up. sway bar end links from the strut, lower ball joint nut/bolt. bot transmission mounts, and then the 4 bolts holding the sub frame.
one bolt on the steering rack/column. (do not turn the steering wheel after it is remove)
subframe out.
lower transmission bolts (i leave one in until someone is ready to hold it up and lift it down).
and the top transmission mount bolts. remove one bolt holding trans to engine and remove.
There is absolutely no reason to remove the electrical box at all.. no need to remove the suspension. Just the sway bar links and the lower ball joints.

because i'm lazy, would you be interested in installing the FE5 front sway for me Ryan? I have to order all the needed items anyway, but once i get them, if you are interested, i'd pay you to do it...just lazy and not a lot of time. maybe you could take my car for a drive and let me know what you think is wrong with the suspension as well since i still haven't had anyone look at it...i think one problem is my exhaust is hitting on the rear sway because i hear a rattle that sounds like they're contacting when i hit bumps.

I know...I just keep putting it off and driving it and things have gotten worse and I have little time it seems like. I'll make give you a call later this week and we can figure out a day/time that works for you to take a look at it, then I'll talk to you when I order the front sway and necessary parts.

ill be there this weekend for car craft, its usually pretty busy.
sounds like everyone hangs out around harmar mall but not sure what will happen since this will be a busy weekend and university ave is all screwed up with the lightrail.

Hey got a quick question for you local guys with the K&N SRI. I just last weekend installed it and it just doesnt sound right.
I seem to get an awful noise coming from under the hood when the boost gauge is around 0 to -5 in vacuum. I know its sucking a lot more air, but the sound is pretty distasteful, specially when i'm not trying to goose it. It almost sounds like my car has a belt squeeling.
Sounds great under WOT and love the bpv sound, but is that other noise just the nature of the beast? or is there something else wrong?
Any thoughts?

A little help here...those of you that tune maybe can answer better.
I have a P2A01 code...I know it's a faulty circuit at the secondary 02 sensor.
My question is this, what code is thrown when you have an aftermarket header? I was wondering if that is the same code or if the code thrown for that is from the first 02 sensor?
Is my secondary 02 sensor probably bad? I have no problem going and picking one up and replacing it to see...will probably do that this weekend, just wanted to make sure it's not the same code that is thrown for a header...because my tune has that code deleted and I want to make sure it's not an issue with my tune.
Actually now that I think about it...gas mileage is down a little, sounds a little rougher in the exhaust...wonder if the sensor is bad or if it somehow got disconnected or something...I'll have to jack it up this weekend and see.
Might not be going to Warrior Dash...for some reason I'm just not in the mood...what day and time are you going Parnell and Jeff? I'm supposed to be there Sunday at 3:30.
