I take offense to your slaying of my name.... I have yet to pop a motor aside from the one in my cobalt.... but that wasnt from improper tuning..... that was from excessive turbo pressure

hey guys need some help having some problems with my car. when i was driving it the other day with my heat on and came to a stop the cars idle would go from 500 up to 1500 and when i turned my heat off it would then stop. It also smelled like something was burning rubber as well. Now today when I started my car it sounded like something was just rattling around and when i turned my car off i grab and shook the pullies and it is the one right next to the blower pulley. I made a cool pick to look at for you guys. I need the help ASAP

It's in my garage in the rafters, incase we have warranty issues with the hard pipes and bigger intercooler.

thats the tensioner pulley its made of plastic, your bearings inside might be going bad, causing heat and starting to warm the plastic up? other wise your alternator, might be taking a crap or your battery could be going, and theres no one that can test your alternator other than GM, trust me i tried to have mine tested before i put it back on my car when rebuilding the motor, i tried autozone, advance, napa, even an alternator rebuild shop, only gm has the schamatics on the 2.0LSJ alternator to test it. I would start with checking or replacing the tenshioner pulley, like i said the bearing could be starting to fail causing heat(smells like buring plastic)causing drag on you motors serpentine blet casuing your car to idle funny when you stop. But i would hope for it to be the tensioner pulley, for if its the alternator, you can only get a new one from 1of 2 places, off another LSJ or from GM, it a GM part only, and the price for a new one is $675

its not that hard, theres a cap on the pulley and it a torque screw then the pulley should come off, how much one cost. beats me but it shouldnt be that hard
