yea my first car was a 92 pontiac grand prix se 2 door and i blew that thing to peaces so many times. Melted the tranny got that fixed, blew up the motor rebuilt that myself and god was that car slow!!!! But it thought me to drive and learned to never buy another car with an automatic tranny every again!!!!! she just didnt like top speed runs lol

allright so i found out my 2007 cobalt 2.2 has the SAI..........that means as it stands right now there is no way to change my header and downpipe........do any of you guys have suggestions on how to fix this problem of mine?

 

get headers and downpipe then get a tune from Clear Image

 

wheres clear image at and whats the cost?

 

clear image has a website you order the tune from them and they ship it too you, you load the tune then ship the device back there is a whole thread on it here, they are the only ones so far to support tuning for the 2.2

 

what about trifecta tuning i had heard something about them supproting 2.2.s

no as far as i know, Trifecta/Clear image is the only one with the tuning software and they havnt given it too any local shops.... the mail order tune isnt bad, you give them all your specs they make the tune specifically for you then ship it out, if you really wanna go into detail you get a dyno and send the info to them and then they email you a new tune file..

 

seems like the is gonna cost more then i would like....

couldnt i just go to the stealership and have them delete the SAI program from the ECM?

 

Dont think so and if they could i dont really think they would do it for you.. The trifecta tune will be fine plenty of members already have it and love it, G5Wisz has a 07 g5 and is getting it around the holidays, after he gets it me and him will come to a meet one weekend.

 

ya man i had been talking to him but i just realized today that the extra thingy left over from my intake was the SAI.......damn it lol but ya man i def wanna check it out when its tuned and ready to go

 

just plug a lil air breather on it thats wat some people have done

 

tank i replied to your pm...pretty much told you the same stuff slobalt12 did since i didnt read this thread first.

i tried doing the air breather thing but that didnt work the CEL (P0411 Secondary Air Injection System Incorrect Flow Detected) still was on..

(its an 08 g5 btw)

 

i have a GMPP intake......my first mod......i threw a breather on and it worked.

when u installed urs......did u disconnect the battery first?

 

i have the K&N SRI which is (i think) the only intake compatible with SAI

i was actually thinking of something else that i tried putting a breather filter when i got the headers done, had something to do with the air pump which is causing the CEL but didnt work

 

ur SAI is just hanging there tripping codes since its not in ur header......i dug through the forums and found that out lol

 

Just tune it out.... Trifecta ftw, will be getting a tune from them once i get my RK sport kit on, and after i buy and install header/downpipe/cams, etc

yea, well atleast as soon as i pay off my slowbalt, im getting either a 350z or corvette im gunna play around with so only one of my rides will be slow haha
