ok guys i have been contemplating my next BIG mod lol ... turbo or TVS.

So i would love some chime in from John and Paul ... and Anthony lol

Im leaning toward the turbo just because it has more potential with out all the motor building.

ok so a few questions:

can i run the turbo in the beginning on the stock LSJ cooling system and how efficient is it ?
- Paul is this what you did ?
- This would save me over 1K, due to not having to buy the manifold and inter cooler and charge piping.

Will be running on E85 no matter what lol

What would be the best turbo option for quick spool time, plan on using the car for auto -x and road racing ?

Paul what was your set up ?

John i think you ran the Hahn kit correct ?

Anthony, what are the pros of the TVS lol .. besides it being quick install and cheaper than a turbo kit

I think in my opinion you should toss the idea of keeping the stock cooling system for a turbo setup. why? because later down the road you will have to change it anyways and is just going to be more work.
Although it is possible and ive seen it work on other setups is not as efficient and people end up doing air to air as it should. My advise would be to start getting the main parts like i told you before like the turbo manifold, intake manifold and turbo. once you have those 3 everything is cheaper and easy to gather.

oil lines, water lines, Ts, Tbolt clamps, tapped oil pan are all easy to get or make on your own.

intercooler, pipes, bov, wastegate, boost controler you can easily find used in good condition at fair good prices.

you can go with either hahn pipes or zzp pipes both i think are the best ones you can find for direct fit and easier installs. only differences are zzp pipes run through the top hahn go through the botton of the subframe..why? because racecra

for the exhaust you can go with full custom downpipe or buy an already made o2 hosing from hahnor zzp along with there downpipes which i would say is the best way to go. and well your catback is nice and shinny but it wouldnt help much on a turbo setup since you got it 2.5"!!!!!! haha

then tune and brake axels and trasmitions!

DONE!

hey james it all depends on what your over all goal is on stock motor with tvs e85 your gonna be limited to no more then say 340-350 as with a turbo 450 is easy obtained
**** the air to water cooling, it will never compete with air to air anyday of the week

as john said that hard spool in the mid range from the turbo is going to kill axles and trannys
something to think about

fueling with a turbo is more forgiving
say my tvs makes 380 at the wheels, (my guess) the tvs pulls about 100hp to spin it up
so at the crank im making 480 but have that parasitic loss bringing my power down
this is why supercharged cars need more fuel at lower power levels
ur 80s on E85 should get you in the 400 range on a nice size snail
my top picks 5862, 6262 and 256et
go big or go home

im feeling pretty good so we should deff be on for sunday
******* flu was deadly
