yes I need that kit. Also my hardrive on my laptop just died tonight, so I don't know how I'm gonna handle tuning this thing this weekend ****... oh yeah and after all the money I had to spend over the last few weeks I'm broke

 

bro u know where i work..u ill check my discount on a notebook hardrive for u..if its dead and a enclosure case to get that to the new hardrive..

 

yeah it's dead, frozen on boot up and no hardrive activity. It crashed las week, but came back for a few dayts, but now it's completely dead. At least I backed up my hp tuners files and tune. It's a Dell D600 even if you got a cheap used one laying around. I need this thing up and running asao

 

im sure is a EIDE hardrive..do u have the restore cd's for that computer?

 

D600 is def an IDE HDD. Worked on lotsa those at school back in the day. Me sees a pattern...haha.


Any new 2.5" IDE drive should be fine. If you need a nice perty version of XP w/o the dell **** let me know. Things can "be arranged"

 

if he doesnt have the restore cds..we mite need a cracked verison of xp...lol..now withj vista its regesterd thru the bios..which limits u till 1 computer..gAY vista!

its this sunday at orchard beach in the bronx right up the hutch from the throgs neck bridge...im working on getting as many jersey/rockland/westchester people in as possible and i was thinking if u guys got together and came up we can make a major impact at this show...i went a couple years back and it was off the chain...orange county choppers was there as well as a lot of celebrities...i even got to meet Funkmaster Flex in person as well...

its $20 per car to enter but that also includes admission for the driver as well as 1 passenger....walk in spectators pay $10 so the way i see it is bring a friend who has $10 and it evens out and u basically put ur car in for free...its all for charity anyway which is always a good thing....

Yes Sean, thats exactly what I was trying NOT to spell out on the forum.

And no Sean Vista is not registered through the BIOS unless you are a cheap ass and buy the OEM version and not the retail version. It was a big controversy because of the limitations that put on system builders who frequently upgrade their systems. Simply putting in a new video card for example would create a whole mess and the user would need to spend lotsa time on the phone with M$ to prove its the same computer.

lol. but yeah I bought my laptop used and don't have backup cd's. if someone can at least make me a boot cd so I can use it for the weekend, it would be greatly appreciated. Oh yeah and it doesn't have a floppy drive, only a cd rom.

freezer trick? and no I won't be up at DPA tomorrow night, I'll be at C/A putting my damn car back together finally. Slim chance in hell I might have it put back together in time to take it out tomorrow night, but more than likely saturday

 

Put the hard drive in the freezer and see if it corrects the problem. Its more used for recovering data than trying to fix the big problem, but its worth a shot. I can't remember if the D600 had an integrated HDD or if it was modular. If you need someone to take it apart I've done it many times.

I can stop by CA and work on the laptop while you work on the car. See where we can get it and give you some options at least.

 

Paul, just out of curiosity, did you ever get the 24mm to Chris or did you guys never meet up. I forgot about it until now. haha.

Integral HD, took the sucker apart last night

 

No rush man, just wanted to know the whereabouts of it. I'll be heading upstate again this weekend for some more wakeboarding. Should be the last semi warm weekend of the season. I'll be home next weekend so i'll get it then.
Also if you feel like some tuning, i want to finally slap on that 2.6 i've had in my car making my backseat fast. Also i will have a dropped car next week as well. Springs go on Tuesday if all goes well.
