Just bought a used 09 Cobalt SS

I just wanted to say hi to everyone and introduce myself. I am picking up a used 09 SS on Monday. From what I saw it has the sunroof option and a boost gauge. Its Black on Black with Red Inserts. It has the low rise wing and I have to double check to see if it has the LSD. I am new to American cars but looking forward to start modding this car right away. It has just under 30k miles on it.

My two last cars I have done a good amount of work to. I had a 1995 VW Golf III GL with intake, exhaust, reflash, rims, suspension, etc. It was sold with over 150k miles on it.

My most recent car was a 2005.5 VW GTI 1.8T that was was putting down over 300whp. I rebuilt the whole engine but unfortunately got into an accident and totaled it. It had almost 141k miles on it.

So the Cobalt will be my 3rd car. I hope to keep this one around for a while now. Once the summer comes around I would like to do the factory stage 1, if thats what you guys call it. I bought an extended warranty and feel that stage 1 should make me happy, for a bit anyway :-p

Anyway I have seen some SS in my area and wanted to know if there are any get-to-gethers. I have a ton of reading to do as this car is so different than the last 2 VWs Ive had.

welcome! deff just go all out and get the trifecta selectable/ stealth tune its worth it.

with just a intake, downpipe, and a tune you will be laying down around 300hp.

Not in your area, but welcome!

As for me, I got scared out of the GMS1 (GM Stage 1 or LNF turbo upgrade) because of sensor failing issues, but from what I've read so far it's common to this forum but in general it's safe!

Me I choose to get a spare ECU and get the ZZP Tune instead because of the GMS1 issues. That way I can swap ECU's when I need to get warranty work. Right now I'm waiting on a new steering wheel because my leather is cracking on it and my warrany is replacing it.

I've noticed that with our cars there's a lot of directions to go but most are good and stable enough to be happy with. I'd suggest checking out Tune section Downpipes Intakes. IIRC intakes are bad unless you get custom tuned

Hope I helped

Well I picked it up yesterday (Tuesday) because of some issues. I checked for the LSD but I didnt see it. I was told to look under the carpet in the back for G85 or something. I didnt see it so I guess I dont have it! Awe well. Its a really nice car, still trying to get used to it.
