BuckeyeGoat.com would like to invite CobaltSS.net members to our annual spring track rental in North Eastern Ohio. (71 miles from Pittsburgh, 118 from Erie)

Several GTO owners inquired as to if they could bring friends who drive a Cobalt SS and I told them absolutly. One has already signed up. Here are the details. Anyone wishing to sign up just post that you want in and I'll reserve a spot. Pay the deposit now or when I post the deposit due date.

Registration for this rental is NOT limited to GTO owners. All spots are open to the general public on a first come basis to cover the break even point of the rental.

The official date is Sunday, May 18th from 9 am to 3 pm. This will be 6 full hours of racing!!! (this may be moved back to a 10 am start-time if we have racers coming from a long distance that need additional time to arrive)

1/4 mile track, both lanes will be prepped the entire length of the track! The track will be re-prepped as needed to maintain safety for no additional charge. The format of the rental is a Test & Tune.

The rental includes 3 track staff to run the starter, computer and the time slips shack. There will be an ambulance on site and the tower will be set for Sportsman (but we can switch it if we'd like). We are required to supply persons to run the staging lanes and water-box. People must be at these stations at all times that we are racing. Post up if you are willing to spend an hour working one of the these positions.

Final pricing will be based on the number of spots filled and sponsor contributions. This is free for anybody who just wants to come watch. To reserve your spot a $20 non-refundable deposit is required. (This counts towards the total cost of course) . My target is 75 cars at $40 to break even. Racers will be charged an additional $18 per bag of oil dry for any track cleanup that is required because of their car.

The entire registration fee will only be refunded if the rental is canceled due to lack of interest or weather.

... hurry up Cobalts, spots are going fast.

 

...ok so 3 Cobalts are in so far and another coming to watch. Now that we have a small gathering lets make this a full blown get together.

also..a little side note, for all that attend, afterwards in austintown, about 15 min away and right by the entrance to I-80 and 76 is a quaker steak and lube which has a cruise-inn every Sunday around 4 or 5 that a lot of people are going to head over to after the rental ends.

 

For those of you that have not paid your $20 deposit they are now due. Please get them to me by March 1st.

I got the contract for the rental from the track today and I need to sign it and pay a substantial deposit to the track when I send it back.

Only 6 spots left in the rental

 

The 75 car field is now full and I have created a reserve list for additional racers that are interested in seeing if a spot in the rental opens up or if I expand to more then 75 cars.

For those already in the 75 car field that have not already paid their deposit, I am extending a grace period until March 10 to get your $20 deposit in. If your deposit is not in by that date you will be moved from the 75 car field to the reserve list and your spot will be open to other racers wishing to join the rental. Racers already on the reserve list will be given first option to take an open spot in the field.
