Pennsylvania People - Tint

Just curious if any of you guys got dark tints and if you get pulled over for it a lot. I want to get a dark limo type tint but am afraid of getting pulled over once a week for it. I know there is some interpretation here for tint laws in PA.

really depends on how the cops are around your town and where you hang out. i drove home for 3 weeks in the summer and i have some of the darkest tint around. dont know what % it is, it was there when i bought the car. anyway, i sat at a red light right next to a state trooper for a good two minutes. he looked my way several times and didnt do **** about it. passed many cops and never had a problem with it. then again, you could be the guy to get pulled over after leaving the shop that tints your windows.

plus the whole annual inspection things a bitch. glad i reside out of state where i dont have to worry about that. just love the smell of exhaust straight from the combustion chamber, hahaha.

i dont live in pitt. but i live on the other side of the state, and ive had to go thru it a couple times for getting pulled over and for inspection in my area. So it might depend, but as long as you have the state law in your car along with the correct(30% or higher documentation from the tint shop) they really wont **** with you too much

I have 35% on the my front 2 windows, and 20% on all the back windows. I had it done about 6 months ago, and I have yet to get pulled over (almost all of my driving is done in Philly). I have been followed mulitple times on I95, but as I said, I never got stopped.

I just had my Cobalt inspected last month at my Chevy dealership, and it passed no problem.

I'm just East of Pittsburgh

Depends on where you're at. State boys really won't bother you unless they already pull you over for something, then I've been harassed about it. But local boys seem to be a lot more picky, I know in North Huntingdon if they can't see in your car, they'll pull you over. Just depends on the cop.

What about the mirror tint? Whats the legality on that in PA because my car is registered there?

I guess going as low at 5% is out of the question around here then.

They usually just harass you about the front passenger windows, if you keep that around 15-20% and do 5% the rest of the way around, shouldn't have any problems

Edit:You can actually spray paint your back windows black, just as long as you have side mirrors and the front windows aren't tinted. The front windows seem to be all they're concerend about, also no tint is allowed on the windshield unless it's not below the factory windshield tint.

I am more worried about the inspection test than cops. I know a lot of local cops and would probably just get yelled at and not any tickets. I wasn't aware that inspection test had tint checks.
